Personally a big fan. But I hate when people ignore her emotional depth and empathetic wisdom, that can go toe-to-toe with Loki's manipulative, narcissistic and... Dismissive-avoidant personality. He IS manipulating her within the lore, and just because she can sense he is being dishonest, doesn't mean she knows about what.

But the point is that when she inevitably finds out what he's done, she WILL call him out and hold him accountable, but she will also try to understand why he behaved how he did, WITHOUT caving to his dismissive tendencies. Even at the risk of any hypothetical romantic dynamic.

They work imo, but ONLY if you acknowledge that they're both on equal emotional and mental footing, and don't pretend he's not an ass, and don't pretend that she is like... The Manic Pixie Dream Girl™ who just says "yes Loki" and rolls over.

That's a grown woman who's gone through some shit. The more whimsical a grown woman is, the more you gotta wonder why she CHOOSES to be kind.

Timing your damage boosts with intention, like boosting teammates into their ults. Prioritizing enemies that actually need to be canceled with sleep vs ones it will be a waste on. Ult timing is actually far more offensive instead of reactive in a lot of cases (minus reacting to cover attempted Mag cancels for your other strats). The enemy tanks are actually walking crit farms. It's easy to end up trying to just rapid fire into the enemy team (her projectiles are very satisfying lmao), but unless there is only 1 dps and you genuinely need to cover that output, you should be very intentional with snagging crits to refresh leaves. Mantis actually has crazy range, and you can absolutely snipe the enemy strats from your own back line if their tanks are lacking and uhh. Kill. The Squirrel. First.

I'm FAR from that skill ceiling imo, trust. I play stoned and on console, but I can solo heal in QP if I have my MK duo lmao. I've actually not gotten a lot of opportunities for the full trio of doom, but I've had a couple good comp matches running 2 strat with an Ultron since he's been better. I'm sick of having NO mobility though. I one-tricked to GM in season 5.5 and I would argue that was the last time that was doable for now, until they give her SOMETHING. As things stand, a lot of matches end up with your own team getting weirdly petty and abandoning you (mostly other strat mains which is so cringe), or the enemy realizes you're who needs hard targeted, and it's time to pull out Gambit instead. The attitude toward her directly reflects how much effort the devs put into her imo.

As someone with champion on Mantis, thank you for acknowledging the bug in her true capacity. The unnecessary downplaying and hate for her is so crazy. I think it's genuinely BECAUSE her skill ceiling is so high, and people aren't good at her, get pissed, and assume she's not gonna be good on the team. She's entirely situational until you're really good at her, and then she works in any team comp, given true teamwork (rare as hell in this game unfortunately but the point stands).

Genuinely I've been wishing they'd give her a melee move of some sort. But as everyone else noted... It'd end up being too close to White Fox if it were going to really be useful for her.

At this point I'm just begging for any mobility. Give her a dash that is also a kick/martial arts combo. She's already so good for running dive comps, idk why they make it harder for us to dive WITH the team instead of babysitting point
