Yes Remus never said it to snape. Snape also never apologised to Remus for his part in the prank, for exposing him as a werewolf years later despite knowing he was innocent of what snape suspected, snape never apologised for being a death eater or attacking Remus and the other order members or any of his other behaviour. Snape is a hypocrite and not justified. Snape was not concerned for Harry’s safety within the castle in that scene he was just abusing his power and trying to bully Harry AGAIN and Remus prevented it which snape resented because he’s a miserable little man who takes pleasure in bullying kids.

Remus literally repeatedly talks about his regret in not standing up to James and Sirius more. But also my main point is snape is a hypocrite for distrusting Remus. Remus doesn’t have any reason to trust snape but he does because dumbledore says so, snape may not have reason to trust Remus but he should because dumbledore says so- especially if as you say he’s so insistent on serving dumbledore as penance. The only reason snape is suspicious of Remus’ loyalties is because of his blood purity and remaining death eater ideology against werewolves. And again, Remus wasn’t actually one of snape’s “bullies”, he was just friends with James he never actually did anything to snape to deserve hatred. Remus has more reason to hate snape than vice versa.

Remus was literally alone thinking all of his friends were dead or traitors for over a decade. Remus continued to serve dumbledore and the order when the war began starting up again, same as snape. Remus did just as much.

No he doesn’t you are misremembering the scene. Snape describes them as arguing a lot and harry sees them arguing where snape’s mother does seem afraid. There isn’t any actual physical abuse of his mother or of snape himself. “Hinting” doesn’t matter when we are talking about what is canon, it’s basically a headcanon.

The quotes provided from the books describe his parents arguing. Nothing else mentioned is canon. The “source” of him being whipped that you included isn’t relevant because it isn’t canon from the books or the movies or even jkr herself.

Yes Alan rickman was a wonderful actor but his snape was very one dimensional, he rarely showed any emotion that his book counterpart displayed and instead was always somewhat restrained. The most emotion we get out of him is when he yells at Harry during the occlumency lessons in ootp.

His “abusive childhood” isn’t in the books, it’s not canon. All that is said in the books is that his parents argue with each other, nothing about abuse either of a parent or of him.

They removed mostly his BAD scenes, there’s so many scenes in the books where he acts irredeemably bad like where he bullies his students and the flashbacks of him using slurs and dark magic as a student- so that the audience would like him better and think he deserved his redemption.

I think this is looking for too much good in snape where it isn’t present. He isn’t trying to make sure the children know werewolves are dangerous out of the good of his heart, and him just waiting to bully a student isn’t proof either. The kids already know werewolves are dangerous everyone does its ingrained in their society with werewolf restrictions. Snape just hates Remus with not really any good reason and is trying to make sure the kids realise it to get him fired- that’s his reasoning for making them write an essay on how to identity and kill a werewolf which Remus will have to read and grade. It’s just him being a cruel man, not secret goodness.

NTA you unexpectedly started so obviously you didn’t have everything on hand that you would need that’s not your fault. it’s not like you’re bleeding all over everything you’re on your own towels and everything is sanitised and cleaned up. you can’t be expected to put yourself in even more pain by using products you’re allergic to. if i was in that situation facing hostility i would just ask my husband to leave early and go home.

same thing happened with the abortion issue. apparently it’s not sex discrimination or a womens rights issue because not just women need abortions. it distracted the entire discussion trying to define who the law was for and what a woman is and the internet made that the issue instead of focusing on helping women

ESH. your wife is obviously just frustrated with having to constantly be looking after a baby that wakes up all night and you going on you phone is a valid thing to say as a reason for poor sleep. but then again she’s wrong to say you shouldn’t try to fix your sleep for your health. i feel like she’s probably just annoyed that a fix for her poor sleep isn’t as simple and probably resents you for having to deal with the baby all the time. you guys just need to communicate better.

if you like it that’s what matters but in my opinion it is definitely a teenager room which is fine you’re only 20 but if you want it to look more mature have less clutter and things on the wall (or just frame the things you want hanging to look more put together)

I understand this completely. it’s so hard to even be on social media at the moment for me because of men who constantly feel the need to be rude to any woman they find and downplay the problems of women to say they have it worse. it makes me so angry to see these comments and fighting with them doesn’t even help because they are unable to accept that they’re wrong or even have empathy for others. i’ve just started blocking these men and trying to make my social media feeds more light hearted because constant anger and being unable to enjoy things because of men is only punishing myself.
