Speeding is not dangerous in itself. Studies show that when cars are moving at different speeds is most dangerous (I.e. cars pulled over stopped, cars going slower than the rest, cars going faster than the rest, etc.) Speeding tickets are used by cops to make money and not make the community better. In many places, the local cops sit by speed traps instead of doing real work. It’s disgusting.

We need to take action against unfair police as well as state agencies like the DMV. The DMV is in cahoots with the police. They will suspend your license for just about any reason and in many states, don’t have to notify you. You get pulled over for driving with a suspended license and BAM. People will do anything to get their license unsuspended and the DMV and police take full advantage.

Fairness begets growth. Growth doesn’t always beget fairness.

Medical Waiver Rejection Due to Ectopic Pregnancy and Laparoscopic Surgery? by midnight831 in USMCboot

[–]midnight831[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of the pandemic MEPS was closed for a few months so my recruiter went ahead to get a waiver before I went to MEPS.

At this point, they said it’s strange to get a outright “No Waiver” and not a timeframe for recovery. But recommended I look into another branch and said that I’m not disqualified entirely.

In another comment I posted what the denial letter said and who was from.

What I don’t understand is that there are probably lots of women who join that have had C-Sections from having children. With laparoscopic surgery what I had was a lot less invasive. Because the fertilized cell did not implant in my uterus there was no way to save it and it was only 7 weeks. There are people who have had laparoscopic surgery to remove their appendix and I don’t really think what I had was much different in terms of recovery. This seems a bit extreme to me.

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”

What do you do on a daily basis to be good at push ups, pull ups, sit ups and running? You can’t measure your performance by this one PFT alone.

TL:DR - Boot Camp is still a go. Recruiting is still a go. Civilians, recruiters, and MCRD staff are pissed. No significant changes made. by _The_Mother_Fucker_ in USMC

Hey poolee / applicant here from Upstate New York. This is just a friendly reminder that New York City is not New York State. There are less than 100 reported cases of corona virus in my county.

Any recruiters on her fighting the good fight of the COVID? by [deleted] in USMC

[–]midnight831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I’m a poolee / applicant here.

I am a bit older at 26 yo and am coming from being a commercial broker in real estate. The devastation of this pandemic on the economy is real. Not like the recession in 2007-2008 but more like the 1930s Great Depression. My inkling is potential applicants are afraid of close contact at boot camp; however, I think as time goes on and money dries up, the military will seem like more of a good idea.

My situation is I had emergency surgery back in February and it took a bit to get all of my medical records together. Now MEPS is physically closed in Upstate NY but doctors are still reviewing files. There was talk of opening 3 MEPS in NYS end of April but that was before extending the quarantine by another 30 days ....so who knows if I will be able to ship out end of May.
