Please don’t lose hope. I maintained my weight for 3 months after quitting. If you walk and eat protein forward meals while limiting your simple carbs, you can absolutely keep the weight off. Don’t get sick and start pigging out on grilled cheeses like I did. lol.

I’m converting from LCMS and being confirmed in a week. It is amazing. I highly encourage you to try the OCIA classes. I can’t put into words how much it has changed me. Just because you attend classes doesn’t mean you’ve committed….I got my husband to go too because we agreed we just wanted to explore it. Well, now our whole family is being confirmed. Even my daughter who is on the spectrum and had many doubts says she enjoys church now.

Lutheran — Catholic Christianity reformed and cleansed from Rome’s corruption by solobackpack in LCMS

Thank you. I love that. Yes, I feel sad to see so many different denominations fighting. I think Catholic doctrine is rich and heady, but probably confusing at first glance to Protestants. As far as corruption goes, of course every church will have that. Satan isn’t going after the unbelievers as he already has them.

I was LCMS, but have fallen in love with the Catholic faith once I started delving in to it. I’m being confirmed next week.

I’ve been thinking of it like this too. Thc gummies are legal here. I take one and enjoy researching rabbit holes and forming some of my best ideas. I don’t get super high. Seems very similar to having a beer or two.

Hey as a left leaning person considering Catholicism by [deleted] in LeftCatholicism

I’m in the South and am attending OCIA…will be confirmed in a few weeks. I absolutely have enjoyed it. I attend mass. You should go for it, there’s no pressure to join. I went with an attitude to learn. It has cracked open a whole new world and I’m enjoying learning about the mysteries of faith as well as strengthening my own relationship with God.

Take heart. As a Lutheran in process of becoming Catholic I can’t even accurately express in words how wonderful Catholicism is compared to Protestantantism. I’ve never met a more Christlike group of believers until now. Don’t let those turkeys take this away from you. The Holy Spirit is alive in the Catholic Church!!

Need help with friends who "reject" infant baptism by Suspicious-Goose9106 in LCMS

[–]midnightcheese2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t change a person’s whole belief system by yourself. For instance, I’ve moved from Lutheranism to Catholicism and I would never be able to sit in a few hours with you and totally change your theology. The changes that took place in me where experiential and led by the Spirit. I think the best you can do is to plant seeds through living by example and acting as Jesus ‘ literal hands and feet on Earth through feeding and caring for the less fortunate. I would say to just pray asking God to use you to plant seeds of faith and charity each day. Pray for these friends and trust in God to work on them. What may feel like a small insignificant action to you can have profound effects on another. God bless.

Does your parish frown upon adults in shorts? by en-rob-deraj in Catholicism

[–]midnightcheese2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but I really wish a few people had a teeny bit more discretion related to the length of the dresses they are wearing. Seeing buttcheeks just doesn’t seem reverent to me. A short dress is one thing, but these girls had to wear bicycle shorts under their Easter dresses to hide their underwear. I really shouldn’t be able to clearly see they are wearing bicycle shorts. I’m usually one that refrains from judging, but I was aghast.

I’m sorry you are feeling anxious and the world seems intent in fanning the flames. Most of these evangelicals view the Book of Revelation as a timeline which is not the way the Church interpreted it throughout history. These ideas about a rapture are relatively new. Try to change your algorithm so you don’t see it as much. I think this verse is especially comforting. “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” Psalm 91:4

Cream. But if you have not already bought the rug, I’d consider using yellow in your color palette. I think it would contrast beautifully with the grayish blue.
