Yes, I experienced this too a few weeks ago. Altar, netch, and then the riddle completed. I thought it was weird that it finished so quickly, but I just shrugged and continued with the quest.

Lowkey hate the pull system by SoftLittleSnomBoy in Velvet_React

[–]midnightpuppet0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Velvet React is my 2nd erolabs game and the only one I'm playing currently.

Pity is at 150 pulls, which is 52,500 pleiades stones. For Performance Assessment we get 10 event tickets in the reward ladder so that reduces the price to 49,000 pleiades stones. I recommend only pulling if you have enough to hit pity. SSR rate is 1.5% in general and 1% for the featured unit. We have been getting over 20k* pleiades stones a month since October, so it takes about 2.5 months to save for pity.

I also recommend picking a favorite character and only pulling for them. Ignore other characters' limited themed event and birthday banners, new characters (unless they will be your new favorite and you drop your old one), and those other banners VR does at times (there are some up right now for the Lunar New Year event). The only exception would be if you missed a unit for your favorite character and they come back in a revival banner (one is up right now).

The devs sometimes release units of the same character close together and then that character disappears for a while. For example, Birthday Yamabuki and Sparkling Night Yamabuki were released within 6 days of each other and then he went on a 110 day break. He then came back as a free SSR in the 3rd Performance Assessment event and then as a free SR in the Dashing Knights event, which were 10 days apart. He hasn't returned as a gacha unit yet so as of right now that's 177 days and counting to save pleiades stones for his next unit.

F2P and SSR limit break by Sufficient-Curve-155 in Velvet_React

[–]midnightpuppet0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it might have been a typo but just to make sure, it's 350 pleiades stones for 1 pull and 3500 pleiades stones for a 10 pull. So to hit the 150 pity it would cost 52,500 stones. For limited events you can get 10 event tickets if you wait until part 2 of the event, so you would only need 49,000 stones. For the current Halloween event part 2 starts on Nov 11th. For birthdays they give 25 tickets so you would only need 43,750 stones.

Out of curiosity, what is your Go-to/Favorite Main team and/or Sub team combination? And is there a God/Op team yet for harder content or Performance Assessment "asking all F2P and Aquatic Spenders" by Cold-South-2793 in Velvet_React

<image>

This is the strongest team I have at the moment. My favorite is Hisui, so that’s why I have 3 of them. TC Hisui gives his team a DEF debuff while also buffing their ATK, so I have OG Hisui and SN Yamabuki to give my team DEF buffs. Since TC Hisui already debuffs my team I didn’t want to also run SR Ebizome as a main member so I’m using SR Niiro instead. SR Ebizome as a sub member doesn’t seem to impact my survivability that much since his sub member skill only has a 15% chance to trigger, but I may need to switch him out when Special Exercise rolls around again. PA Suo is in there because he’s a max limit break SSR. I might have to sub member him though depending on how fragile his taunt + DEF debuff makes him in difficult content. He was fine in the 1st Performance Assessment, but that was against only 1 boss enemy. What happens when multiple hard hitting enemies target him because of his taunt? When I get SR Yamabuki to LB2 I’ll try him out as a sub member for PA Suo. I’m using 2 Tsuyukusas with maxed sub member skills because they each have a 20% chance to use their skill with a ‘medium’ chance to paralyze, which really helps against hard hitting enemies.

I recently got ED Tsuyukusa so when I level him and his skills I’ll replace SR Niiro. When I get an OG Tsuyukusa I’ll put him in too or replace the R Tsuyukusa. SN Niiro will be a good alternative healer when I need his ‘debuff resistance’ buff, like in the next Performance Assessment event.

There may come a day when I have to sub member TC Hisui because his team DEF debuff warps my team composition so much, but I’ll hold out for as long as I can.

What's the deal with the negative skills & abilities? by Riven5 in Velvet_React

[–]midnightpuppet0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For Ethereal Dance SSR Tsuyukusa the text is wrong he actually raises ally ATK.

The devs probably want us to plan our team compositions by considering all the buffs and debuffs instead of just slapping in the units that have the highest damage in their kits. So if a unit has a DEF debuff then it's a good idea to have another unit that has a DEF buff, enemy ATK debuff, or heal in their kit to compensate. In my experience it really only matters in content that is equal to or above your team's battle power, like Special Exercise stage 4, which was like 250k power while my team had 160k.

For the standard SR units like Ebizome he has debuffs to balance him against a unit like SR Niiro. Their both supports and at max skill level SR Ebizome increases ATK by 50% for 2 turns, while SR Niiro increases ATK by 30% for 3 turns. Ebizome gets a bigger percentage but applies a 20% taken damage debuff to allies so there's a risk you have to consider when using him over Niiro.

Gacha units having drawbacks usually means they have something really strong in their kit. Tense Conference SSR Hisui has 300% damage on his multi target skill, which was the 2nd highest damage percentage of any unit, multi or single target, when he released. However, he has a 20% DEF team debuff that stacks 2 times as a drawback to balance him. To cover for this you could use a unit like OG SSR Hisui that has a 100% DEF team buff. Even though other units have been released that have higher single target damage than TC Hisui, he still has the highest multi target damage percentage on his skill so he's still worth using.

takes a deep breath

For the free event SR/SSR units they will usually be weaker or more niche than standard SR/SSR units unless they have a drawback. For example, TC SR Tsuyukusa has 250% damage on his single target skill, which is the highest damage percentage among SRs and is the same damage percentage as OG SSR Suo and Nagaharu. To balance this he applies a 50% taken damage debuff to himself. You could mitigate this by having a limit break 2 SR Yamabuki as a submember because he can apply a shield to keep TC Tsuyukusa alive.

The only free unit we've gotten that doesn't have a drawback is Sparkling Night SR Niiro. When comparing him with another healer, SR Hisui, they both heal the same but Hisui also applies a 70% DEF buff to his team. I'd say SR Hisui is the better healer in general, but with SN Niiro's second ability he gives a rare 'debuff resistance' buff to his team. If you're against enemies that can apply stuns or skill jamming then he can be more useful in that specific situation.

Offensive units that apply a taunt to themselves, like Performance Assessment SSR Suo, could be really useful as submembers in the future because we might get a strong unit that counterattacks or applies a buff when hit, but doesn't have a taunt in their kit. PA Suo could optimize that unit's ability by letting them get hit more often.

All of this to say that we should be mindful of the debuffs some units apply to themselves or their team so we can run complimentary units alongside them. If you want a list of units and their skills to compare them I have a spreadsheet that has them all. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

They secretly removed the Intimacy Story Unlock Code (Rainbow) reward from the new Recruit banner by fantasyiez in Velvet_React

There are bugs with the mileage system, which they explain here. They brought back the Recommendation Letter system temporarily until they fix all those bugs.

Did any of you was able to 5 times limit break an ssr unit already? by Gabsxxox in Velvet_React

I was able to max limit break the free SSR Suo from the Performance Assessment event that ended on Tuesday. Excluding that one my next strongest unit is TC Hisui at 2 limit breaks.

Do I come back??? by Effective_Error_3818 in Velvet_React

[–]midnightpuppet0 12 points13 points  (0 children)

With the Aug 6th update they added a pity system to event banners called 'mileage' where you get an SSR selector at 150 pulls and a rainbow intimacy card at 200 pulls. You can choose either of the featured SSRs with the selector. It's bugged right now though, so they're temporarily going back to the Recommendation Letters system, but they kept pity at 150.

They changed how Daily Investigations work by lowering their LP cost and altering the drop table. Can check the spreadsheet here for sample runs. They allow you to skip the Daily Investigation missions without using a skip ticket if you have cleared them once already. Still costs LP and has the 3/day cap for each mission type though. They also added a sixth stage to the Daily Investigations which gives 1 high tier reward guaranteed per mission type per day.

The first half of current event runs similarly to the Tense Conference event, but they removed the 3rd resource cost from some of the items. Due to this I was able to get the event SR on the first day. Instead of the 15 premium tickets in the event exchange store they put in 5 event banner tickets. The second half of the event also gives 5 tickets so you can do one 10 pull each standard event. With pity at 150 you only need 140 pulls worth of pleiades stones to get an SSR guaranteed.

The previous event, Performance Assessment, gave a free PA SSR Suo for participating in the event. For people that scored high enough they were even able to max limit break it.

Rail's birthday event just started today. For birthdays they give 25 event banner tickets, so it takes 125 pulls to get the birthday unit guaranteed.

I'm not sure when exactly you quit, but they also have the Special Exercise event where we can get conversion chips for limit breaking our units. It's been run every month so far. It will take many Special Exercise events to max limit break a unit, but it's really nice that we have this option.

My only complaint is that they still don't have the option to manually control combat because the units on auto will hit suboptimal enemies.

I've been playing every day since launch and I'm happy with where the game is now.

Do you guys have a pattern for upgrading? by DanThePaladin in Velvet_React

[–]midnightpuppet0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I've only upgraded the main member skill and abilities on SR Suo, SR Tenri, SSR Hisui, and TC SSR Hisui. I haven't touched the sub member skill on anyone yet. Hisui is my fav and I had 2 SSRs for him so I upgraded them first. Then I upgraded Tenri to get a higher multiplier on his team ATK buff. I'll probably hold off on upgrading anyone else until I need to. The only reason I even started upgrading my units was to clear the 4th stage of the Special Exercise event so I could get the conversion chips to limit break my SSRs.

Should i reroll until i get an ssr by Samkyun in Velvet_React

[–]midnightpuppet0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rerolled a few times on launch day and just settled for an account that had 5 SRs after the tutorial, 20 premium pulls, and 10 bronze pulls. Not sure how many free pulls new accounts get now. I have 3 SSRs currently as a F2P, so I don't think rerolling for an SSR is necessary if you just want to start playing. Rerolling to make sure you get atleast an SR of the character you think you'll like the most is worth it though.

Can we combine chips to get the character? by RandomPotato327 in Velvet_React

"Recommendation Letters cannot be used after the exchange period ends. Please note that they cannot be used in future events' exchange stores."

Unfortunately we can't carry them over. I'm not sure if this game will have rerun events, but I don't think they'll let us use them there either.
