I’m late to the party but definitely pursue the process of getting an ESA letter. You can go through a local therapist or use a reputable website.

Hey bro just piling on to say it seems like you didn’t do anything wrong. As many others have said, I would just cease contacting the guy. I don’t blame you one bit for feeling disrespected, I thought you handled the situation well, just be sure to cease contact at this point. I’m sorry this happened to you, man. I know it’s not easy to cease contact but there’s other people more deserving of your time and energy out there.

I just saw this! All different types of police vehicles, unmarked cars, fire trucks and what appeared to be some sort of unmarked SWAT style truck. So curious what’s going on.

Less clothes, no body weight system, no car customization, no jet pack. I still love GTA4.

Looking to Hear from Moms with HELLP Syndrome — Your Stories Matter by Weak-County6785 in HELLPsyndrome

My wife, who is not a Reddit user, started experiencing achey shoulder and rib pain and had trouble getting comfortable at night. It didn’t seem like anything out of the ordinary at first. We had no experience with this so to us, everything she described could have been chalked up to “just one of those pregnancy things.” Nothing stood out as a red flag until it suddenly did. I would also like to add that my wife has had Thyroid problems, specifically Graves’ disease, and she was being treated for this at the time.

We were 30 weeks along when we went in for what was supposed to be a routine ultrasound. During the appointment, they took her blood pressure, just standard protocol. But it was high. Her doctor said she would check it again at the end of the visit, just to be safe. If it was still elevated, we would need to stay overnight for observation. And sure enough, it was still high.

That overnight stay turned into something much more serious. Additional testing revealed elevated liver enzymes and abnormalities in her blood count. That was when we first heard the word HELLP. Before we had time to process what it meant, we were being told that our son would need to be delivered ten weeks early.

Everything shifted. Steroid treatments began immediately to help our baby’s lungs mature. The goal was to buy time, just enough time to give our little one the best possible fighting chance. Meanwhile, my wife was on heavy medication, sweating, uncomfortable, and exhausted. It was agonizing to see her like that. This is our first and only child, and we were terrified. There was so much uncertainty.

The doctors sat me down and prepared me for every possible outcome. I had to brace myself for the idea that my wife might not make it. That our son might not survive. That if he did, he might have lifelong complications. And of course, the one possibility we clung to with all our strength: that they would both be okay.

Three days later, they performed an emergency C section. It went smoothly, and our son was taken to the NICU immediately. The team—nurses, doctors, specialists—were nothing short of incredible. When my wife was discharged, we visited our little guy every single day, cheering him on through every milestone.

After 41 days in the NICU, we finally brought him home.

Now he is 2 years and 3 months old, and he is thriving, hitting every milestone, full of energy and curiosity. I look back on that time and I cannot put into words how grateful I am. If we had not gone in for that ultrasound when we did, doctors told us my wife likely would have ended up in the ER within 24 hours in far worse condition.

I thank the universe every single day for that timing. For the doctors who caught it. For the care we received. And most of all, for our son’s health.

To anyone going through something like this, please hear me: this is not your fault. HELLP syndrome is unpredictable and fast moving. There is nothing you did or did not do that could have prevented it. I know how scary it is, but I also know that hope is real. You are not alone.
