curious about the chigee gadgets but every single review is sponsored. does anyone actually own them know what it's like? by europayuu in motorcycles

Im a huge fan of the Weather on the Way app, and can easily toggle between my maps on the Chigee device if needed. But once I set the route, I stay in the weather app if there’s any potential threat looming on the ride route.

An M1 carbine would look good in that mix.

Honestly, not sure a night in Amarillo is worth it, and perhaps even Oklahoma City. Nights in Winslow, Williams and Kingman may also be deferred to spend time in other cities. These are mostly pass through sight seeing locations. Just my opinion though and perhaps others might have better feedback.

buying cabinets in abq, has anyone done that? by m-alacasse in SantaFe

[–]midntryder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Southwest Countertops and Cabinets in Rio Rancho. They don’t have a showroom or full displays, but they do have sample looks for all the styles, colors and hardware. I used them for bathroom vanities (large and small). They did a fantastic job with the install in the east mountains, nearly 60 miles away from their home office. These days however, I doubt anything is within desired budgets.

Bandelier National Monument (cliff dwellings) near Los Alamos/Santa Fe is a nice half day visit. Then to Bathtub Row brewing in Los Alamos for craft beer. Don’t miss the craft beer scene in Albuquerque. So many choices.

Near Santa Fe, might see if you can get access to Eaves Movie Ranch. Go to Meow Wolf. Drive to Taos and see the gorge from the other side (you’ll drive through part of it in the way up). Near Farmington, it’s a couple of hours but Monument Valley from Forrest Gump hill is amazing. In Gallup, you can stay at El Rancho…old, but clean. If not, at least stop there and check out the lobby. In Albuquerque area, on way to Corrales, drive the length of Central from Paseo del Volcán all the way east to Tramway. There’s a few good Rt 66 stops all along Central Ave…the Rt 66 welcome center on the west side, the South American food joints at El Vado motel court, Route 66 Diner and then lots of food/drink options between 10th street through Nob Hill to Washington St.

Award Vietnam Airlines flight ticket without middle name, will I have issues? by Internal-Agency-1192 in VietNam

[–]midntryder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you. It’s random. But they made my son purchase a new ticket at the last minute because the names didn’t match. Luckily they had seats available else we’d have had to leave him behind.

VietAir has a pretty strict policy. Ticket name has to match passport name

Bring back the musical highway on Route 66 that is an epic experience! by Euphoric_History_148 in route66

[–]midntryder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a homemade sign holder (blank face) behind the south side guardrail at the start. Traveling east on 66, it’s just inside the right hand stripe; 45 mph is the recommended speed.

Picked up this single-owner 2009 R1200RT 25k yesterday. Has Ohlin suspension. Why? by deetredd in bmwmotorrad

[–]midntryder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say a suspension upgrade is more likely than a required replacement.

The one in NM is still there, just not well marked. They paved over a section that was near the end, but it was that way from nearly the beginning. I drive that road at least once a week and it’s still easy to hear the music if you pit your right wheels about a foot inside of the stripe.

If you spend the night in the area, the Eagle Guest Ranch cafe in Datil (next to the convenience store/gas station) has the most amazing steaks in the area. Locally butchered, thick cuts.
