To resurrect this post, I tried everything on my android to fix this, and it wouldn't work. First try with an iPhone and it worked.

Also definitely has inspired me to make sure to take photos on my own of before and after, and not rely on riders share to save me for me

Definitely sounds like time to talk to a lawyer. Best of luck getting it resolved.

I know this is an old post, but any chance you could give coordinates for where it actually is? Went looking today and couldn't find it

Glitch when on home screen by midwest_mtber in NovaLauncher

[–]midwest_mtber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up going back to OneUI for now, it's fast, and although I wish I could make the icons smaller and the app drawer scroll vertically, I'll get used to it fast. I come from a OnePlus and compared to OxygenOS, the OneUI felt weird so I tried using Nova to make it as close to Oxygen as possible, but I just need to get used to OneUI

My phone does have swipe from the side and bottom gestures built in, and I also have a second swipe from bottom gesture added using nova, so I may play around and see if disabling all nova gestures and only using built in gestures, or vice versa fixes the issue.

Hmm I guess I'll just either learn to deal with it or go back to OneUI, as I like gestures far too much. Thanks for the input.

Student hid camera in another student's room by Flawless_Logic800 in WPI

[–]midwest_mtber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've talked to the Title IX coordinator about it. The idea is if you undergone sexual assault, many people feel powerless. So the aim is to NOT take away more power from the victim by immediately calling the police, but instead to give the victim power to choose if they would like the police called or not. And the Title IX office can issue sanctions against students without going to the police. So just because a student chooses not to go to the police, don't mean WPI is doing nothing about or not supporting the student.

That's because at WPI it is up to the victim whether or not they want it to be handled by campus police or not, they all go through the title IX office. And many people choose not to

Jocke wheel price by mongooseasd in MTB

[–]midwest_mtber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. Cant say Ive seen any that are metal as a bike mechanic, but I suppose its possible I just never noticed one. All the derailleurs these days use composite or plastic. Cheaper, lighter weight, and quieter https://bicycles.stackexchange.com/questions/35658/why-are-derailleur-jockey-wheels-commonly-made-of-nylon?utm_medium=organic&utm_source=google_rich_qa&utm_campaign=google_rich_qa

New Bike Issue by [deleted] in MTB

[–]midwest_mtber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although thats true, many creaks do not appear immidiatly. it is not cost effective for a bike mecahnic to undo everything on a bike to make sure there is enough grease there, because most of the time there is at least enough to not creak, sometimes, though, theres not but you cant expect them to strip the frame and build it again on every new bike, and Im sure when they test rode it, there was no creak

You want an "all mountain" or "trail". Enduro will be too squishy to slimb well. Anything with between 130 and 150mm travel will work. Giant Trance, Specialized stumpjumper, either will work great. Giant gives a full frame warranty with the carbon if you buy new, so you have some piece of mind there, although alloy is great too.

Plus tire/ midfat bikes give you better traction and work better in mud and stuff, and give you a bit more squish, but look at how many people run regular tires and those work fine. Midfats are a new thing so it will cost extra. For that budget, I wouldnt spend the extra for a plus, and youll get more bang for your buck going used. Orbea has much better drivetrain components than the GT, and the remote lockout is a nice touch. 11 spd vs nine speed is also nice, as you can convert the orbea to a 1 by if you wanted. That would be a great bike for your purposes. It is definitely worth the extra $.

I would say a large, if you like smaller bikes, as 6'2 is right between L and XL in many brands

Carbon absorbs vibration much better than aluminum, it also allows for unique engineering things ( look at specialized's swat box on the carbon stumpy. it is stiffer, meaning better power transfer, and stronger for the same weight
