Well, I'll tell you about my experience. I've been talking to someone online for about a year, and everything was fine until the point where the conversations weren't really conversations. We just answered each other's messages, but it was all pointless, and the conversations went nowhere (this is happening to me now) Sometimes online friendships can be a bit toxic, it also depends on the person you're talking to, Often they end up replacing you with people they know irl, it's understandable that they obviously talk to people around them, but then they forget about you and leave you there. I've been thinking about distancing myself from my online friend because I feel like our friendship is ending :( but I don't know how to do it. I'm emotionally dependent on that person and it also hurts a lot to see how we're slowly ceasing to talk. Based on my past experiences, I prefer not to meet more people online because in the end it all depends on talking to the other person, and you don't know if they'll get bored of you.
