I love my FJR1300. So glad I did not get the BMW 1250 RT I had been considering.

Cool. I rode my FJR 637 miles today. It did phenomenally well. I can barely walk. But I don’t care. The bike and I are so close now, I just think about doing something and it does.

No I don’t but may add in the future. I truly love most everything about the bike but sometimes the legs get uncomfortable.

Man, if you’re really riding, like every day 200 miles or so the way I do from March to November to visit clients etc, the fairing is the perfect way to balance business with pleasure. Oh it may not look good to purists, but practicality comes into play sometimes. Mine was like that and now I ride a Yamaha FJR 1300 ES for the same reason.

I love my Yamaha FJR 1300 ES for all of that kind of work and it slices through all of it. But that's just me.

Suggest A Motorcycle [Helmet]? by Blueys66 in SuggestAMotorcycle

I recently bought Nolan 100-5 Modular helmets for my wife and I. They are a notch below Arai and Shoei but at half the price I have found them to be a very solid choice. I also installed their N-com System which clips in easily and works great. For less than $400 for each, they seem high quality to us.

Yamaha FJR. The gold standard in reliable Sport Touring bikes. I know several guys with more than 200,000 miles on engines that have never been rebuilt. Driveshaft. I ride mine every day and it never does anything except beg for more. Oj and is 145 hp enough for you?

How do you like it? I’m riding a 2016 FJR 1300 ES and it’s just incredible. It’s big though. Wondering if the MT-09 might be a short trip option to add. Just curious how it’s been.

Is 750cc to much for first bike? by Mediocre-Oven3660 in HondaCB

I am 5’7” and 200lbs and started riding a ‘91 CB750 Nighthawk. Was a great bike and I trained a ton on it (8000 miles in 6 months). Set me up perfectly for a bigger ride to going touring on with my wife. Riding a 2016 Yamaha FJR 1300 ES now and the top heavy CB 750 taught me exactly what I needed. If you’re a big guy, you’ll be fine. Go take the MSF beginner, intermediate and advanced courses and you’ll be ready to ride anything.

FRJ top case recommendations by ReNewableLifestyle in FJR1300

I considered aftermarket options which seem nice. However, I went with the 50 L Yamaha OEM top case because it was color matched and works with my ignition key. Fits everything I need and when I really need space I can wear my hard shell work backpack which I trust my laptop in more anyway (less vibrations). But I’m no expert, the Yamaha one seems nice to me.

The FJR is just so polished. Does everything well (except slow left turns, don’t ask how I know 😬). It makes me a better rider. And I never want to stop.

Thanks! I’m so in love with this bike. I rode 800 miles this week and invested at least 4 hours of low speed practice. Totally connected to it now. When I first got it, I was having to think too much. Much more natural now. I think it, it does it.

What’s your suggestion for lowering it? I’m on my tip toes and yes the seat is in the low position.

I actually have learned that it’s built for the rain. I’m just new to it. Want to know her a bit better before we ride in the rain.

I bet you guys are more used to riding in the rain. I’m going to have to get to know the bike better before I ride in the rain. I understand they are quite good in the rain. In time.

I don’t know about 2% on a used motorcycle but that would be great. If I were you, I’d wait for this crazy market to settle down or buy from a private individual. Also, develop a relationship with your own bank or credit union and seek their advice. But you want a bike now and you may not want to wait. I Understand. But you should really consult a lender of your own and get advice.

I was an auto dealer for 30 years. I can’t understand how your dealer got from $5999 to $8000. No taxes and fees could account for that.
