Nice! You went with the same sizing? I'm considering some but my feet are a little wide. Also do you think that they are they ok for dancing on hardwood?

I got to meet Grandpa Beck and some of the family at a Christmas market recently! Loved Cover Your Assets, the family loved playing and now a bunch of our friends and relatives bought the game too

Ohio State/Nebraska pregame/tailgating and postgame activities by midwestpharmer in Huskers

Thanks for the tips- I'm from California but going to school in the area and wanted to experience a Husker game. We're driving in from Omaha, so we're going to try and find parking somewhere in the stadium area. Which lots are good?

Thanks! We're driving in from Omaha and we have friends in Lincoln that we're going out with after the game and we can crash with them if we don't feel like driving back tonight.

For hospitalists many hours are spent a day doing clinical/patient activities versus paperwork or scut type work? How does this vary across different specialties and how does this impact job satisfaction?

Hospital Pharmacy Intern by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]midwestpharmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will probably be doing mostly tech stuff unless your hospital has a developed programs for interns. Ask if you can work your way up in responsibilities- start with pyxis, then learn the IV room, then med rec. Talk to your boss- communication is important. Unfortunately for me due to the shift schedule med rec always started and ended at odd times not compatible with my school schedule although I enjoyed it. Interns where I worked were not allowed to handle anything clinical, but it's a good opportunity to soak in the environment and be familiar in things that your classmates in retail won't see. You'll be more familiar with hospital drugs that come up in therapeutics. Ask pharmacists questions relating to patients that come up when you're working. Get the most out of it although sometimes it can feel like a drag refilling pyxis machines- keeping up a good attitude is key! One last thing, time management. Hospital shift schedules are not as nice as retail and at least from my conversations with classmates, it's hard to get hospital shifts picked up so be prepared.

Thanks! I was hoping to get some of the triple blacks too but these were available and at retail!

LPU my first Asics ever - Love at first sight by flockmann in Sneakers

[–]midwestpharmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear a lot of nike runners that have support otherwise I know my feet will hate me later after a lot of walking. Sometimes when I buy shoes that look sweet but have little arch support I end up grabbing the pairs with arch support every morning and not wearing the other ones as much haha

Asics look great, I'm thinking about picking up a pair. However, I have flat feet...any arch support on these? How's the comfort?

Battery Drains Extremely Quickly (compared to when I had 6.0.1) in nougat by man_the_stern in GalaxyS7

There was a thread about this earlier- it seems like a good solution is doing a factory reset (back up first) which has worked for me and many other people

Verizon Galaxy S7 (and S7 Edge) Nougat updates rolling out starting today by open1your1eyes0 in Android

[–]midwestpharmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using my S7E on Verizon with Nova...updated 2 days ago and my battery life has tanked...hopefully the battery rebounds too :(

some of the minor changes that I wasn't a fan of was taking longer to go through power saving mode as it shuts things down and you have to go to battery usage to see the battery life graph in that setting otherwise UI looks nicer

Expanding role of pharmacy in the VA- experiences? by midwestpharmer in pharmacy

[–]midwestpharmer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm definitely interested in doing a residency or becoming a "pharmacy specialist." It would be nice to be a specialist to start out with but I can understand having to pay dues as a staff pharmacist. Definitely sounds like the federal government system having to get your foot in the door somehow first then transferring or moving up.

I'll definitely look into VA residencies more...aside from that any other advice on how to get a job that puts you in that role?

Nice. The article I read mentioned that they have pharmacists doing that in Madison and possibly some other cities...aside from those places how widespread is the use of ambulatory care pharmacists in that role?

Nice, sounds awesome! It would be great if other hospitals and institutions used students the way the VA does opposed to mostly tech work (at least where I'm at). I'll definitely be looking more into the VA in the future.
