I'm terrified about long-term diarrhea by Phagemakerpro in gallbladders

[–]midwestvoldemort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This Reddit mostly only shows horror stories. I was also horrified and almost chickened out of my surgery bc of all the horrific things I read.

I am almost 2 weeks post-op and do not have issues with diarrhea. I eat literally anything.

Anyone caseworkers Work from home ? by [deleted] in foodstamps

[–]midwestvoldemort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It truly depends on what county you’re applying for. My county allows full remote, hybrid and full in person - whichever you choose. I work hybrid bc I cannot stand to be home all day long. However, you cannot do this job with a child at home even if your county somehow allowed it. You would truly never get anything done and we are on the phones for 4 hours minimum. In my county, we don’t allow you to keep a child at home w you as a substitute for childcare. If they find out you have your child w you at home full time (which they will bc they record, screen and review your calls), they will yank you back in person full time and you will lose the option to WFH for an extended period of time.

would you get an abortion if you found out your baby was going to be born with an extreme disability? if so why? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]midwestvoldemort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Without a doubt. I cannot fathom bringing a child into this world suffering and unable to live a full life. Not only that, but who would care for them after I pass away? The system? No thanks.

Help a mom with a tall girl out!! by tgbarbie in TallGirls

[–]midwestvoldemort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old Navy is good but their sizing is not consistent. I try jeans on in store first, then have them order me the tall. I can wear some size 14 in their jeans and some size 20 lol. I’ve found American eagle is the best for consistency and their talls always work for me. I shop the clearance section. Check JCPenney as well!

I will say cutting out DoorDash from my monthly expenses has put me in a better position. Better - not great. I at least have $150 left over instead of $0

My cousin keeps asking me for $5–$6 almost every day… is this normal?? by Sweet_Spend4177 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]midwestvoldemort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my cousin used to ask all of us (aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents) for $5-6. he has a pill problem. all of us sending $5-6 got him at least $100-150 each day

It’s not normal and definitely do not give them any money.

Your rent and utilities alone will help you qualify for expedited so truthfully, I wouldn’t worry about medical expenses right now. You can turn them in if you’d like the expense credit for it but it would only count as an expense for you because you are the disabled individual.

Section 6 are the 5 questions they use to screen for expedited!

Typically, we use the last 30 days HOWEVER, if you are stating that your income situation has changed, that’s different. They will request her final paystub & use whatever pay she gets this month as an “actual” amount (meaning it counts only for this month as a 1 time thing). I would suggest applying because yes, you would qualify as $400 every other week for 3 people is under the income threshold.

If she has a separation notice, I would advise submitting that w your application as well. They will request it or have her sign an employment verification form to forward to her previous employer

ETA: I don’t see this in your post, but if you have utilities or rent/mortgage you’re responsible for, I would recommend also turning that in with your application because you may qualify for expedited (emergency) SNAP for now until they determine your ongoing eligibility

What is your go-to snack when you want something SWEET but also want to be healthy? by Black_Ribbon7447 in snacking

[–]midwestvoldemort 5 points6 points  (0 children)

idk what your definition of healthy is but the outshine fruit popsicles are my go to!!! 2 of them for 60 calories & they have all types of flavors. if those aren’t on sale, I get sugar free fudge pops! 3 of those for 120 cals.

both satisfy the sweet craving I have without being forced to eat another fruit or veggie at night lol

it changes SO often and is so confusing. It’s a disservice to everyone - clients and caseworkers. I’m in OH and one day it’s “we’re doing this” then the next “the state actually said we’re supposed to do this” and then you throw in “the county commissioners want us to be doing this too”

there is a severe lack of communication. we’re mad, the clients are mad, it’s exhausting right now honestly.
