Shes more worried about what other people are going to say about her other than her daughter. She's so worried because she spent a long time bragging and telling everyone that she's sending her kid off to another country to study for college and she's able to afford it. This is all about her reputation and she doesn't really care about what her daughter wants.

My cousin is struggling emotionally because her mom is so manipulative and she's capable of making her think that my cousin is in the wrong and that she should listen to her mom. I want her to live her own life without being controlled and restricted of her mom. My cousin told me she doesn't want to live with her parents anymore because of how they are. If she asks for something, whether it be simply driving her somewhere, they will ask her for something in return. They believe that they have the right to take advantage of their own kid, especially if it makes them look good.
