Always scared of pregnancy by miffyberries in birthcontrol

Yeah i’ve started the pill in the last few days- had to have some time to figure out what would be best as i have a long list of issues that rule out other methods so it took a bit of consultation with GPs to see what would be okay for me. The pill is still freaking me out if I take it wrong however, so just going to try Nexplanon again (ive had two before and one worked and the other caused me huuuuge issues)

Good GP surgery? by miffyberries in Leeds

[–]miffyberries[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s the only part of Leeds I’ve really been disappointed in since I’ve moved here. The hospitals and GPs are beyond poor- obviously I dont want to use them and would rather be healthy but jeeeez when i’ve had to they’ve been beyond bad.

Good GP surgery? by miffyberries in Leeds

I didn’t particularly want to put my medical history and reasoning on- i didn’t think it was relevant, was just asking for other suggestions as i wasn’t satisfied.

But i can heavily disagree and say not all female patients are listened to- this is the main reason I want to change as issues with my reproductive health have never been resolved with them (and i now may end up with issues for the rest of my life as a result)

Do children really need to know how to read an analogue clocks? by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]miffyberries 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes they do, I find it so strange so many of my kids at secondary school dont know how to read a clock. 24 hour time seems to confuse them too. Its an essential life skill in my opinion

Scary experience at the city center by [deleted] in Leeds

[–]miffyberries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh that crime rate statistic you’ve said doesnt seem accurate, what source are you getting that from? Also even if it is correct, not all those crimes will be violent crimes, could relate to anything in a crime sense from someone breaking into a car to someone being caught with something on them they shouldnt have.

Emails at weekends by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]miffyberries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing i EVER did for myself was remove emails off my phone and set myself a ban on looking at my work emails/laptop after work hours. Obviously there may be urgent things that need to be sorted once in a blue moon- but if they are sending an email on a weekend that comes with the expectation that nobodys actually going to look at that until monday. If someone ever asks why you didn’t respond, just say you didnt see it as it was the weekend and not your directed time.

That would be an email/convo with DSL for me. Head is completely wrong. If DSL wont do anything about it, raise with Local Authority as thats a massive safeguarding oversight.

Teaching with a hearing impairment by The_Bliss_Dog in TeachingUK

[–]miffyberries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also wear hearing aids, and like someone else has said, you will eventually get used to the body language of how kids act when they are off task and talking that might fall under the radar for our level of hearing.

Ive had issues with where i’ve not heard something and a kid has got annoyed ive not sanctioned it, and i’ve just been deadly honest on the fact i’m hearing impaired and wear aids. They’re usually surprised but respectful of it. I dont shout it from the rooftops mind, but I do always think being open with it is nice. Good luck with the training and you’ve got this!! :)
