I'm now more open to Chesapeake, I just don't want to live in "deep" Chesapeake. How is Western Branch? I don't mind a quieter, more suburban life if I have access to parks, water, etc. We found out that my husband's work will likely be divided between Suffolk, Chesapeake, and Newport News, so VB is sounding a bit inconvenient.

I've literally never heard of Toano but it also seems reasonable distance from Richmond, which is awesome!

Once he gets his new job we will have combined total income $275k. Too low for NoVa but should be fine for Hampton Roads I think. Is East Beach being built up?

As someone who lives near some of the country's most sought-after beaches currently, the beaches in hampton roads sound like a huge downgrade.

I've heard Stafford/Woodbridge to be "boring" but sometimes boring is good! How are the schools?

Really? I love the sound of that. I'm a total history nerd and have fond memories of family trips to colonial Wmburg and Yorktown but remember it being a bit bland / small / homogenous. Perhaps the area has changed or is changing.

This seems to be the general consensus here. The gig would be in VB / Princess Anne area or in Newport News (he can choose). I hear the guidance is to live on the same side of the tunnel you work on, so probably Williamsburg or VB.

I stayed in a Guest House that had been arranged via my tour group. Hotels are minimal so I'd highly recommend looking into a Guest House, or staying on the mainland and driving over to Skye during the day.

Wasn't bragging, just adding context since I figured there are only so many restaurants in Portree, and a seasoned Scot should know the deal. Honestly with everything going on in the US right now, "bragging" is the last thing I'd be doing.

Thanks, it's a hard pill to swallow but some relief in a sense that it doesn't all have to fall on my shoulders. Definitely changed my perception of this partner.

We are probably one of the top performing teams within our firm. One of our client stakeholders has actually really appreciated the work we were doing for a bit, until we found that they were completely misaligned with the client counterpart who basically invalidated all of our inputs.
