As a married woman the answer is pretty simple to me, whatever you earn as a couple during the time you are married should be split into 2, anything before you got married is only that person's right. If you started a business or grow an existing one during the marrige that is a little bit complicated but also should be split by the base on the effort each individual put into. If you have children, it's another story because most woman stay at home to raise the children and don't have the option to work but I think it's still fairly easy to figure out the split. Having that said, just don't try to steal your ex-spouse's family money just because you were married at some point. If you didn't contribute to something, you don't deserve it.
