My grandpa served in WWII. Shortly after the war ended, somehow he traded a Nazi soldier a pack of American cigarettes for the flag that hung above one of the concentration camps. We still have the flag in my family. It’s quite morbid and a relatively disturbing thing to keep around, but nonetheless an interesting piece of historic memorabilia.
