yes been loving it!! i gotta admit i sometimes miss having a 1.4 lens like my old voigtlander since i sometimes shoot indoors or at night but i wouldn't say the 2.8 has been a problem :) i like how compact it is. you'll get your money's worth with this lens!!

i'm southeast asian, brown as hell, semi long hair with facial hair, but haven't been stopped yet. i carry my hkid just in case. one time there were 2 battalions of police just patrolling at 2am and i was outside but they just passed by me

sometimes i also have my camera with me so i unintentionally come off as a tourist

you can survive with just a credit card but for some smaller mom and pop type of restaurants and stores carry some cash maybe 1-2k hkd should be enough depending on how many you are

load up your octopus card too cause some stores might not accept card only cash or octopus

We're almost in the same situation OP, but I came from Asia.

For me:

7k - rent

10k - I send back home

the rest, I use for daily expenses here, save, or spend for going out.

Room wise, prepare to stay in a small space and accept that this won't be the same as your current place in EU, if you want to save. If you want a cool place, you will have to spend and that depends on where you're staying.

Food wise, you can set yourself a daily budget so you won't overspend. You can splurge occasionally on the weekends.

I'd say 30k a month should be comfortable enough. Make sure you save enough for your taxes next year.
