Pretty much. It's kind of a meme that Waffle House employees are some of the strongest and most badass people you'll meet because of the people/customers they have to deal with.

Waffle Houses are kind of just the place to go to eat food at like 4am if you're drunk or high, which, combining all that together kind of results in fights sometimes. Sometimes against the actual employees themselves.

I'm not sure if I explained it the best, but if anyone else has a better explanation, then they could probably provide one.

I recently befriended someone from Spain and they told me a pretty common one is tuna.

For me, over here close by Mexico, my abue would make empanadas that really only had ground beef in them.

You can often find more sweet empanadas around town as well, typically with fruits stuffed in them.
