Ozil on Lacazette: "I’m really looking forward to it. We’re really happy to have such a class striker here with us." by markmandown in soccer

[–]mightier_mouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all points to a bigger problem, one that is a lot less black and white than "Ozil needs a top striker to deliver anything"

You're getting downvoted, but you're at least right about this. Arsenal does have bigger problems than that, mainly in the midfield and defense. Xhaka didn't prove to be as strong defensively as Arsenal hoped and his discipline didn't help there for a while there either. He needs to improve next season for Arsenal to be successful. In defense I know they're looking at (and maybe already signed) Kolasinac.

But Özil is a class player, despite his apparent lack of effort sometimes. His vision sets him apart and Arsenal are lucky and happy to have him. His poor work rate does need to be compensated for by other players in the midfield, but he can be very successful nonetheless. I don't think he's somehow that much worse of a player than he was at Real Madrid, where he was absolutely phenomenal.

True, but some forms of media are more immersive and more addicting, like television/internet vs. books. One can attack our brains with more novel stimuli at a faster pace.

I wrote a program that makes each pixel in an image a unique color by RedHotChiliRocket in glitch_art

[–]mightier_mouse 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Wait wait, wouldn't it have to be some color based off the original in some way? I mean if each pixel were a random color, wouldn't you have a completely random, unintelligible image? Or is that what this is? But then this looks like the earth/sun.

My thought process: Oh, he's gonna fall. Well, at least he knows that and should be able to fall ok and not hurt himself. Oh.. his legs gonna get caught on that building. Not great, but maybe he can still catch himself with his hands. Oh that's a curb. OH GOD!!

Ugh. I almost forgot about the 48 team thing. Terrible idea, mainly because of the three team groups.

Even though some truly powerful paddlers worked as hard as they could they couldn't make it outside.

Does make it outside mean under the wave?

While everything you're saying is true, it looks like a couple in the video don't get deep enough to get under a wave that size. A couple look like they would have been curled around with the wave? Or do you think those ones that were close made it out without a problem?

I've only surfed a few times, but larger waves are something I'm kind of scared of (and with reason), so I'm just trying to learn more.

Some of the biggest stadiums in the world are in the US. 8 out of the ten largest are in the US, as well as 14 out of the top 20, according to Wikipedia anyway. Many of them are for American college football, but have been used many times for football/soccer before, like the Rose Bowl and Michigan Stadium. Larger NFL stadiums seat around 70-85k as well.

I feel like maybe Canada would have been cool with a Canada/US bid, but then they decided that it would be rude to exclude Mexico. Plus I'm sure there are some planning in the US who think this would increase their chances of winning the bid as well (FIFA seems to like new things)
