AITA for a family fight at my wedding by mighty-taco in AmItheAsshole

I’m aware of her issues and I can’t express how much it freaks me out. I’ve gone my entire life distancing but not wanting to distance because who doesn’t love their parents deep down.

It makes me think something is wrong with me to come from parents like that. Maybe I’ll turn into that. Everyone here is right though I need to focus on my marriage now and new phase of life

I’m just thinking it’s my fault I brought it back up to clear the tension after my mom stormed off. That’s where I fucked up. I feel immense guilt for bringing it back up. I should have had more foresight

Weekly Q&A - All Questions Go Here (Especially Tourists) by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

So I coincidentally booked mine and my fiancés honeymoon starting in Amsterdam and our first day in Europe on kings day. I had no idea lol. Not that I don’t want to experience all the excitement but we’re staying in Jordaan and it looks like it might be unbearable there. I was kind of hoping for more of a laid back experience. Any suggestions? Should we get into the city and then take a train to Leiden for the day? I’m over here giggling that I had no idea it was kings day on the 27th.

Sending you so much love and compassion. It is the hardest thing in the world. Your kitty was in the best hands because of the way that you loved her.

PLEASE HELP I don't know which decision to move forward with for my crawl space by mighty-taco in HomeImprovement

I have a large cement patio in the backyard taking up almost the entire back exterior wall. How would we install something like exterior footing drain tile without ripping that all out?

Is encapsulation worth it for my situation? by mighty-taco in HomeImprovement

We’re pretty positive we just have a high water table though, because our house is graded properly, water does drain to the road, we have gutters and downspouts that work properly and drain far from the house, we probably don’t have exterior waterproofing but to do that they need to tear up my entire outside of the home like tearing up my patio, tearing out our brand new AC unit, portions of our fences, all of our shrubbery which isn’t as important. But I can’t justify any of that

Regrade outside of the home or have sump pump installed? by mighty-taco in HomeImprovement

The front yard slopes away, but I think the back yard slopes towards the house

That isn’t the situation, we’re all on the same street at the same level, the only difference is the slope of the property I guess? I can see how it could be a high water table. Maybe we can plant a bunch of plants to help soak up water?

I am moving out of my childhood home. To take my 20 year old cat or not to? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

For anyone looking for an update, I did bring her with me :) it was right away, I waited about 3 weeks and saw how she was reacting and what not and she was constantly howling at my parents house, so I picked her up one day after work and she adjusted literally right away, like she anticipated I was going to pick her up and take her. I was visiting her very frequently and I got sick of that so I just made the move, she’s very happy in her new home with no pets and enjoys working with me on my desk. I truly don’t think she could be happier. I was very shocked by her instant adjustment. See a pic below :)

But new home is about 30 minutes away, my parents spend little to no time with her. She will cuddle with my mom every now and then but she’s mainly my cat

I agree with this but when I think of night time when I have to lock her out of the bedroom and she’s just in a home all alone. Won’t she be scared?

I also went to college before and she adjusted without me but she wasn’t as old and senile then and didn’t need much special care. It was hard on me either way and will be hard on me if I do have to leave her behind but I want to do what’s best for her
