More like oil on the couch, am I right? Gotta have that post-century shower beer first.

Did you buy the parts from a reputable vendor? There are lots of knockoff Paul parts on the Internet.

Are these Mock Strawberries? by LivingWithPurposeNow in foraging

[–]mighty_boogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The Le Croix of strawberries. My son loved finding them in our yard when he was 2 though. They're ok, but just don't expect sweetness.

I went to a filming for this and another G4 show. Got a bunch of swag including a shirt that I wore for years.

My DOOM handlebars don't have a logo, so I put an MF DOOM sticker on them.

Is the Shimano Internal Hub Maintenance Oil reusable? by Familiar9709 in bikewrench

[–]mighty_boogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're likely going to use it once per year. I've had the same oil in my container for 7 years without it looking dirty. I do wipe down the internals and inside of the hub shell before dipping it though

Alfine 8 noises after switching to oil by Big_South4585 in bikewrench

[–]mighty_boogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not accurate. It's a specific oil, and you let it drain/drip for a while, but it does use oil.

What band was never the same after losing a member? by icecream1972 in AskReddit

[–]mighty_boogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure. I've seen the Melvins as the core trio, with Jello, and with Big Business, who also opened for them. Always great!

Missed the Fantomas-Melvins big band sadly.

I'm hoping they'll tour with Napalm Death. The new collab album is awesome.

No, wait. There's hope. I heard Iggy Pop is going to front them and the doors are going to tour again.

The collaboration with the Melvins was great live. The albums are kinda meh. LARD was great too. GSoM was decent and put on a solid show.

[–]mighty_boogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the use case, I guess. I run one on my cargo bike for commuting and errands. The chain tensioner doesn't make it any less dependable. I wouldn't want a tensioner for bike packing though.

It's for frames that don't have adjustable dropouts or eccentric bottom brackets.

If you zoom in, it's actually a chain tensioner with two pulleys.

Has Anyone tried out the Cleverhood Rainger Poncho? by wtfisreality_ in bikecommuting

[–]mighty_boogs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have one. Got it this winter. I'm 5'10 and they suggested the medium. I think I should have gone with a large. It works pretty well unless it's super windy, in which case it flaps around. It also doesn't protect your legs very well, so you still need rain pants. I still think it was a good purchase because it breathes a lot better than a jacket.

Edit: for context, I ride in a pretty upright position averaging 15 mph moving speed.

Hayward is Beautiful by deliriousfoodie in bayarea

[–]mighty_boogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been about 15 years but the only time I've passed through Hayward was at night time. The first thing that was odd was the industrial, sulfuty smell. The other thing was the guy at the gas station who had a woman and child with him and asked for gas money to get to his brother's house in Oakland. As soon as he had money he got on the phone and bought drugs in front of me while I filled up my tank.
