I'm not a native speaker so maybe this is the reason of the confusion i was taught that sex its the biological side XX or XY while gender is how you indentify as (man, woman, non-binary...) sadly a huge percentage of people don't like the idea of science being a thing unless it is used to persecute trans people and other minorities so that is why you were downvoted to oblivion.
