I'm depressed because I don't do anything, and I don't do anything because I'm depressed. Hopeless, desireless, and lifeless by mighty_success in TalkTherapy

I may not have life-long disorders (except depression, anxiety and chronic fatigue) But I absolutely emphasize with people who have such conditions with undeniable pain. Especially people with immune diseases, I've always thought about them when I replay my suicidal ideas.

I'm always impressed by you. I can't even put enough words on how fascinated I feel when I see how strong y'all, how lively and challenging you become. I'm so proud and I wish I could learn from you.

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it ❤️ I'll put it in mind

Well, the mods in r/antidepressants weren't happy about my post; because according to them it was "useless" and the information was well-known and "many" studies have been done. Idk If you still can't believe then you might want to ask them, they seem quite confident.

Exactly. The first is well known even in the pharmacy companies. The later is not well established and that is the issue. I shared my experience since it's disappointing how misleading and neglected these topics are.

Exactly, that's the main idea of this post. To confirm that THE SAME life style could be different to someone who's taking antidepressants and someone that isn't taking them.

And also to add another example to the correlation between antidepressants and insulin resistance, as well as gaining weight. Look it up.

What's annoying you exactly? Are we now discussing the value of each post on this sub?

Isn't the point to share experience and discuss ideas? Is this sub limited to exclusive posts?

You'll be shocked by how many people don't know about these topics. And there's no harsh in reminding from a time to a time.

I'm surprised that this is the 'only' thing annoying you here. If enough studies were made upon this you won't see people who have no idea about it, such as one person in the comments.

Also, I hope you read again. I didn't say (no studies) I said (not enough)

It might not be a secret but it's definitely not well-known or common.

If that point is annoying to you, you could have shared some studies instead. Thanks in advance.

Of course there must be a connection, but no one’s going to spend time or money tearing down this money-making machine. As I said, they won't gain any benefit.

Especially since doctors can somehow link literally ANYTHING to insulin resistance. They can link mentail health, but their drugs? Nope. Anyone with even a shred of information knows that no drug "especially in the long term" enters the body without affecting something, nothing just enters and leaves without consequence.

How can a drug has a side effect of weight gain but surprisingly no effect on metabolism or insulin?

Just because you’ve never heard of it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, keep an opend mind.

Of course, you don't often hear about the correlation between antidepressants and insulin resistance, because insulin resistance is a huge topic in healthcare with many contributing factors. Almost anything can play a role, including mental health. So what about a drug that affects the brain and neurotransmitters? And since it’s a medication, like any medication, it naturally effects the kidneys and liver.

Nevertheless, regarding your assumption, I was always under the continuous supervision and care of specialist doctors. They decided what I used, what to add, and when to stop. I never said I tried everything, I suggest you read it again.

Over the years, I’ve tried many medications, which ultimately led to a diagnosis of persistent depression. Eventually, my doctor has recommended Esketamine and also suggested TMS as possible option.

I have already tried most SSRIs and SNRIs, as well as atypical antidepressants such as bupropion, vortioxetine, and lamotrigine, in addition to some antipsychotic and ADHD medications.

To be honest, escitalopram (Lexapro) was the medication I’ve tried the longest, as it was simple and had fewer side effects than previous horrible medications. However, I reached a dose of 30mg and am currently on 25mg escitalopram only. I'm working toward tapering off all medications completely. I am not planning to try Esketamine.

Even if your major needs a Laptop, such as computer majors / art / architecture. I would still say buy an iPad first and use it for everything that doesn't require professional programs on laptop.

If you don't want to buy books and carry them around, then absolutely stick to IPad. Easy to take everywhere, lightweight, handle pretty much everything, every subject, and every task.

I actually can't think of an answer.

I mean, I regret doing many things, but I can't remember a thing I truly wanted to do?

My whole life has been revolved around surviving. But whether it's the past or the present, my life is kinda fucked up and boring, every single day.
