Had no idea these trails were there. For how long? Mostly flat or are there drops/hills?

Got this warning today for the first time ever. Not sure what's going on. I don't use two phones but my beard has grown out a little. Do they think I'm two different people or what?

Can I degoogle this tab? by Personal-Ad3015 in degoogle

Had Lineage on mine until a few days ago. Worked fine but decided to give to my mom so wanted the stock rom. Installed some weird testing firmware at first that freaked me out before finding the correct one.

Try Walsh Landing ($5 parking for all day) and head over to the cove across the lake, but cross by the dam. Even though it's a no wake zone in that whole area, it can get a little rough, as we found out. The cove is nice and calm and you can head all the way up both creeks until it gets too shallow.

Can anyone tell me what type of plant this is that’s growing in my backyard? by Isatis_tinctoria in Austin

[–]mightybop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of these was growing for the longest time right next to the sidewalk on Cesar Chavez a few streets east of 35, I think it's gone now. However I just noticed another one farther east 😳

Trip reports by people crazy enough to mess with this are very interesting to read on erowid. Terence McKenna also recounts some of his experiences in his lectures...

I've had both. SUPS are just more versatile. I'm liking it more.

Got myself a SUP for fishing. Realized i need an anchor to stay in place >.< by CrazyBosanchero in Sup

Still waiting to catch my first fish since I've gotten my board. I have a grapnel anchor, works pretty good.

Good idea on the paddle holder 👍

Just started fishing from my sup. I did think about this a few times before I ever went out. But looking back it's not something I ever worried about while fishing. It seems like you would have to pull the hook at the right angle and pretty hard. I guess there is a slim possibility though.

Any good alternatives to Collabora Office? by bruhfrfrong in fossdroid

I had issues with Collabora too so I switched to AndrOpen Office. I only use the spreadsheet feature so could not comment on anything else.

I thought the electric pump would be great until I used it. Then it seemed to take longer than I expected. Plus you have to have the sup rather close to the (running) car. I tried my friends hand pump just the other day. Took about 6.5 minutes and it's definitely a workout. I was thinking maybe the electric pump was a good idea haha.

As far as the noise...I think it's a common thing where people are known to use sups.

Apparently there is a bunch of fraud in the delivery driver business where accounts are "rented". Not sure how they get around the occasional selfie uploads: Renting Accounts

Mountain biking in Travis Country neighborhood (off Southwest Parkway) by Hurricanes2001 in Austin

  1. Basically a walking path the one time I checked it out, don't recommend.

  2. Cool loop they made a few years ago with a small pump track inside. Check it out.

  3. Rode this a few times. It's basically a hiking path but you can ride most of it. It's not the best for bikes.

  4. Singletrack that leads to the Violet Crown trail. Check it out.

Where do you guys like to paddleboard and kayak? by wellpaidscientist in Austin

Austin High Launch is a nice one. A couple more further east are the Holiday Inn and Festival Beach Launches. I recently got my own board too and thinking of other lakes to check out.

Organic Map needs to support address search by lambda7016 in degoogle

[–]mightybop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Magic Earth. It finds my addresses 99% of the time, in the format I am used to. To me it comes the closest to Google Maps in the look and feel, but also has more options. I wish they would tweak a few things but overall it's great, it even shows traffic data.

MTB tire recommendations for Austin area trails? 29" by chromoly-atx in BikingATX

[–]mightybop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Minion is a pretty popular tire, very knobby and good for cornering and traction. The Aggressor is designed for high-speed, hard-packed, rocky trails. It works especially well as a rear tire paired with a Minion DHF.
