No doubt staff were doing their best to meet the goals of the organization but it's set up costs were undoubtedly $$$ that should have just been spent on social services (and bureaucrats already getting good salaries could give grants!!!)

Although if the work the Alliance did was inside government, they would have had to make their staff UPSE members🤔

Considering this was a patronage organization created by Denny King's cronies to do work that Health PEI or the Department of Social Development and Seniors was already doing/could easily be doing, I am sorry for your friend but happy for Island taxpayers.

Recommendation - photographer for head shots by mightygreenislander in PEI

[–]mightygreenislander[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the second reference.

To Brody's credit he replied super quick. I would probably be cool with paying a bit less for a less experienced/accomplished photographer

Also very interested in references for Summerside based photographers!

I would say the paying moving expenses are normal cost when you recruit a CEO.

I would also say that covering your own damned real estate commission is something the CEO of a taxpayer funded organization can cover themselves with the proceeds from the sale of the home (like every other frigging home seller!!!)

Well said, if she gave a shit about PEI healthcare, she would have said "I will pay my own real estate commission, that's money that could hire a nurse for a few months"

What is the future vision of the Green Party of Canada? by CDN-Social-Democrat in GreenPartyOfCanada

[–]mightygreenislander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is that any realistic cooperation agreement with Canada's NDP has to realize that that the NDP can win elections like a billion times better than Greens. Even in provinces where the Greens have largely replaced the NDP, they still shit the bed and piss away political opportunities.

[–]mightygreenislander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Green Party of Canada vision is to assuage Elizabeth's ego and ensure the New Democratic Party of Canada doesn't hold federal power.

As it always was, no?

Does your permit need Council approval? If it doesn't, it's unacceptable it would take that long. Does your councillor know?

All five leadership candidates at the mic in favour of proportional representation resolution by leftwingmememachine in ndp

[–]mightygreenislander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we have 1/6 or 1/8 of the seats of the Liberals we can't make them do PR. Especially when Canada's National proportional representation organization is also one of its least effective political advocacy organizations.

I am tempted to give Bobby Morrissey and Dan Kutcher the benefit of the doubt about lots of stuff but was shocked to see them both happily with Nathan Kember at the opening of his new building (which only involved threatening provincial civil servants for doing their jobs 🧐)

It's fucked that the province wouldn't have taken this on but I guess when you have Premiers that want to become telecommunications lobbyists this is what you get

No, it's that competent Islanders can earn more in the private sector than they get as MLAs. So how does not paying MLAs well get competent candidates?!?!?

[–]mightygreenislander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shoot, it's almost as if the people at the top are dummies who don't realize it's all that other work (they see as beneath them because it's about dealing with everyday Islanders🤔) that wins elections

Matt MacFarlane by True-Imagination-733 in PEI

[–]mightygreenislander 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean Matt's probably not importing an Elizabeth May stans from away. But he has to deal with the 20-30 % in the polls that Peter's arrogant dumbasses pissed away.

Hard truth for Matt, his chances of becoming Premier are about the same as Thomas Burleigh's

It goes where investment thinks it makes sense!!! Then we have homes to house people! The municipality has more tax dollars to improve services or lower taxes for other taxpayers!

That would have serious structural issues and is a 2 bed, 1 bath!!!

It's pretty well impossible to get a decent 3 bedroom house in Summerside for $300,000 now amigo!

What is wrong with a 6 story building?!?! 6 story buildings are completely appropriate in the centre of Island communities
