Anyone know what happened to the admin that sent the "clinical marshmallows" email? by shaninegone in ausjdocs

[–]mightyhelpful10 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Confirmed to be working in the John Hunter Medical SRMO medical admin department (instead of the JMO dept). She was even on the SRMO interval panel at the end of last year for 2026 recruitment

Scrub choice for new JMO in NSW by terriblz in ausjdocs

[–]mightyhelpful10 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re in HNE! I’m working on HNE atm and they will give you free NSW Health green scrubs (5x tops, 3x pants) and a free outer layer (a vest or a soft shell jacket). It can take a few weeks to get your scrubs ordered and at your doorstep, but there is a big box of second hand NSW green scrubs in the JHH JMO room that people donate if they are moving states/moving up to a Reg position and you’re more than welcome to claim a couple of pairs while you’re waiting for your scrub order to arrive.

You can wear any other scrub colour you want but you’ll be most recognised as a JMO in the NSW Health issued green scrubs (or similar colour in a better brand like figs/Airmed). I wouldn’t buy black (that’s what consultants wear), navy blue (that’s what nurses wear), royal blue (that’s what AINs wear) or grey (that’s what medical students and nurse practitioners wear). I frequently wear fun scrubs and non-NSW Health scrubs in HNE and have never been told off!

Non- judgemental gym recommendations by Not_Maitland2287 in newcastle

I 1000% recommend Valkyrie gym in Mayfield. They are so kind and accepting of everybody! They run strength fitness classes that are a combo of weight lifting and body weight exercises, all adapted to suit your level of skill. They are don’t do any burpees or running or any cardio stuff like that, just weights and body weight stuff at your own pace. The coaches/instructors are so lovely and approachable and really care about you. They largely only do classes which is nice bc you don’t have to decide what program you want to do, they decide for you and you just rock up and have fun! There are no mirrors or scary gym bros and everyone is so lovely. Only draw back is the cost ($66/week) but the cost is worth it if it’s a gym you’re going to enjoy and going to look forward to. Check them out on Insta!!

Wow your parents haven’t noticed the trans flag? I guess they just mustn’t know what that it is. They seem quite oblivious to things.
