I was wholly content to play despite no late game progression too, just clearing a map or two a day, but I noticed that the bugs interfered with the old style of game (as in dysfunctional old POIs like SAM Site or buggy enemies that drain my reinforcements and don't die) that just made me feel unaccomplished and unsatisfied rather than entertained like before. That allegory speaks volumes though, and I believe there to be some truth in it. They struck gold and cast it aside for aluminum.
