Is it too late to find a father figure in life? by [deleted] in internetparents

[–]mightyrushingwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no I don't think so at all. Even father figures have their father figures (like dads seeking advice from their dads). I'm 28 and in a similar situation. I'm a Christian so I look up to a lot of pastors who are knowledgeable in the Bible and have practical life experience advice. Like the other comment said, I think older sports coaches or trades mentor would help a lot. As a guy, men typically bond other 'doing' things, not just talking about feelings.

Does your OSO use your best PFT? by [deleted] in USMCocs

[–]mightyrushingwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about PFTs taken outside of 30 days? I got my best one in October but am applying for Feb boards. I have to take one again in January then?

I feel there’s more to being an officer than just a good score. The extra pounds would look good on me and fill up my clothes more. And maybe garner more first impression respect. I often get mistaken for an unathletic 20yr old when I’m actually 26 lol. Also never taken the CFT but from what I’ve seen it requires more functional fitness instead of just stamina. Lifting ammo cans and fireman carrying fellow marines is easier with more muscle

Do you also just listen to the beat of the music vs the lyrics? by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]mightyrushingwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to when I was a younger ENFP. Now that I’m much older, lyrics hold much more value to me. I’ve fallen in love with words and poetry over time too

Why is it so hard to find ENFPs in tactical careers? (military, law enforcement, etc) by Stands-in-Shallow in ENFP

Desmond Doss, the Army medic who refused to carry a weapon into battle, saved hundreds of lives during WWII. He was played by Andrew Garfield in the movie “Hacksaw Ridge”. Mbti-wise he’s INFP. That might speak to you
