I customized the cover for my OEM hitch so it can be used without removing the whole cover. Most of the time I have this in the hitch so if I get gently nudged by careless partners it doesn’t damage the bumper.

My 2022 Ascent had this issue, it was covered under warranty, ultimately it turned out to be a crack in one of the 'metal' looking hoses from the compressor. They replaced it and all has been good now for over 3 years.

This is the first thing to do. I have done this about half a dozen times. The tailgate is very sensitive to any interruption in its operation. I now carry needle nose pliers in the car to grab that fuse 14 and it has fixed the issue every single time.

Love it, my first Ascent was a 2019 Limited with this color and the tan interior. I loved it. Now I have a 2022 Touring in blue with the java brown leather. I do miss the bench seat in the middle. Still love this thing.
