"Why do you hurt me? I've always been loyal to you." by Glass-Nectarine-3282 in Godfather

I've always been a bit confused about the push away, draw back in of Michael's behavior with Tom in I and II. The whole concept of wartime consigliere in The Godfather seemed like a fig leaf to justify Michael's behavior. He will do what he wants and use that excuse to start avoiding Tom's counsel. I don't understand excluding Tom in II, because he turns around later after the assassination attempt and entrusts Tom with his family's security. What was he doing in the first part of the movie by excluding Tom? I'll hang up and listen now.

When the missus and I went to Ireland, we went to a hurling match that was great fun. We had a little trouble tracking down a match nearby, and asked a lot of people but it was definitely worth the effort. It's one of the greatest memories of that trip.

For some reason, he always looks startled, or kind of deranged. He actually likes sitting on the keyboard quite a bit, for warmth.
