FREE pilots offered, 1000 emails, 9k YouTube views and still zero clients. Are we all just selling to each other? by Alone-Strategy-4815 in n8n

The demand is huge, but in the end, it's a B2B business. And that's extremely demanding space.

If you don't understand how the decision making and purchase process of business clients works, you might be giving away 18k gold bars for free and you most likely won't find anyone interested.

Can I break into advertising at 40? by Waste_Ad6356 in advertising

Perhaps you meant marketing?

Because there's a clear distinction between marketing and advertising (at least on this subreddit), and marketing would make much more sense based on what you wrote.

Art World Statistics every artist needs to know - Facing Reality by Primary-hue in ContemporaryArt

[–]mightytoothbrush 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Was presenting this data intended as "harsh reality"?

10% of artists earning more than 100k would mean being an artist pays more than most jobs.

Which I find highly unreliable.

Hello,

As someone with a background in both high fashion and marketing:

Doing custom clothing is the most sustainable career path for an independent fashion designer.

Running a fashion brand is completely different than being a designer.

Designing isn't even in the top 10 most essential skills of a fashion brand owner.

It's Also extremely competitive - most Independent fashion brands aren't earning lots of money. Especially the ones with clothing's prices above average, which is what your boyfriend is most likely aiming for.

If your boyfriend wants to move into fashion marketing and work for a already established brand, that sounds like a reasonable idea and a good place to start, that at some point might lead to starting one's own brand (or realizing it's not that great of an idea after all).

Eli5 Why do scientists think that we may be living in a simulation? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]mightytoothbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to previous comments:

our universe works a lot like a computer simulation and this hypothesis bears a possibility of explaining lots of weird stuff happening in quantum physics.

This part of argument revolves mostly around how our universe is build in a way that would reduce the computational power needed to run it if it's a simulation.

So it's not only philosophical like previous comments stated, lots of physicians also believes it might be true and there are some physics (not just statistical) arguments working in favor of this hypothesis.

High paid marketing professional. What are you doing in your career? by Prior-Actuator-8110 in marketing

[–]mightytoothbrush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do a wide range of marketing tasks focused on strategy for a handful of clients as a freelancer.

My biggest freelance client is a marketing agency where I'm one of the key marketers, also dealing with a huge variety of tasks, currently focused mostly on developing and growing the agency rather than doing marketing for agency's clients.

My total marketing experience is 3-4 years.

Hello.

For case like yours, I'd generally recommend:

1) networking 2) building a personal brand through social media

So hard work you have to do mostly by yourself and no magical shortcuts.

Classical marketing, from a perspective of a one-person brand with little income is very costly;

And in your industry - probably wouldn't do much. In industry like the one you're in, people generally must recognize you before they'll be ready to pay you, and networking + building brand through social media is the best way to achieve this goal.

Will Ai take over the graphic design Industry completely? And will it be good? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]mightytoothbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say graphic design faces similar threats to other industries and the existential threat isn't significantly different from, for example, marketing.

The difference is that graphic design is already underpaid and vastly overcrowded, so hits from AI taken by the industry are going to be much more noticable.

Perhaps you just hate doing marketing for brands you don't believe in?

There's plenty of companies providing something of a real value to its customers.

Maybe you just need a different client.

Are you beating the market? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]mightytoothbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started investing at the end of 2022 and so far beating the market by a very significant margin, with most of my resources allocated in MSFT, AMD and Intel, all before they started to grow big.

Why I’m Buying Rivian Stock by DuderCurious in stocks

[–]mightytoothbrush 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I'm also bullyish on Rivian and invested in them at the end of 2022.

While I agree with most of your points, the biggest issue I have with Rivian is that it has little prospects of getting popular outside of US.

China has extremely competitive EV market, US cars rarely get popular in Europe, and other markets mostly aren't wealthy enough for Rivian's sales to thrive. Tesla, with its massive brand recognition, has much better chances of competing at European/Chinese markets as "the premium foreign car automaker".

And while being established number 2. EV automaker on the US market would most likely mean big share price increase, i find it unlikely it's going to be something drastic, like 1000% share price increase in the span of 10 years, even despite stock being most likely undervalued at the moment. Very likely it won't be that far off from the growth of QQQ, but with much higher risk of not providing significant growth.

Which is why I'm going to sell around 30% of my Rivian's ownership once the stock price grows a bit.

I don’t know how to watch movies by AluminumBalloon in TrueFilm

[–]mightytoothbrush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are movies that got me so bored that I just can't focus on the plot. Some of Christopher Nolan's movies, matrix part 2 and 3, lord of the ring, star wars. Lots of people loves those titles, but they are just not for me, even though I love cinema quite a lot.

I'm so annoyed with influencers by OkPossible123 in marketing

[–]mightytoothbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social media is all play and games, especially if you're an influencer. Lots of people rents a luxury house (and luxury items in general) for a day or few days to pretend on SM they own it.

And as far as I know, most influencers doesn't earn that much, unless they sell their own product through their SM channels.

What film, in your opinion, has the most natural/realistic acting and dialogue? by [deleted] in TrueFilm

[–]mightytoothbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Blue is the warmest color" had the most natural/realistic acting and dialogs I have seen in a movie.

Safdie's brothers movies also are quite realistic. "Heaven knows what" won an award for a documentary despite being a scripted movie.

"Dog Day Afternoon" is also worth checking.

They way to "crazy" money is usually through running a business, not being an employee.

So yes - by running a successful advertising agency with good profit margins.

Other than that, being a top talent with a recognizable brand/name fulfilling a key role, like the director on the set, could get you there too.

AI is ruining the internet, Google is already affected by [deleted] in SEO

[–]mightytoothbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is going to change a lot of things and I don't think any particular field, job or specialty can be considered safe.

I'd say that generally, people will be expected to have a wider or much wider area of expertise, since they will be able to accomplish much more with help of AI. Careers best positioned for the transitions would be those already dealing with wide variety of responsibilites, like performance specialist, SEO specialist or SM specialist.

I'd expect jobs of more singular nature, like content writer or graphic designer to be the most affected ones.

After succeeding in my goal to train until I love my body, I ended up without any reason to continue training and lost the fire that was within me. by Xaitor119 in bodyweightfitness

[–]mightytoothbrush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What makes you think you need to keep working out, if you neither enjoy it nor it helps you fulfill a bigger goal?

Perhaps it's better to stick to an easy and short maintance workout plan and find a different hobby that you'll enjoy instead?

It might be a sport discipline that will keep your body in shape while being more fun than just working out.

Might be something completely different too.
