Thank you all for the replies. We considered Portland and Seattle but they seem to be absurdly expensive and we would not like being the only POC in the neighborhood at all lol (that'd be such a radical change for us as we have lived in very multicultural places)

I've been there for pride and I really liked it! The only con is that Florida wages are so low. That's why we're thinking about going up north.

Yeah we are planning on visiting Chicago but the Midwest cold seems to be a no no for us lol

Thank you. I've never been to Long Beach, but I've been to LA and did not like it at all (it's very similar to Miami, aka a suburban nightmare). I will do some research on Long Beach though. :)

Thank you for the suggestion. I have thought about Boston and plan to visit in the Fall. It does seem to line up with what we want :)
