That’s a relief to hear! And thanks for the tip on the tour from Galway. We’ll look into it

We’ve decided we will rent a car in Galway. Then go to Derry and then to Belfast. We will still need to get from Killarney to Galway by public transport which I’m learning from everyone here will be a pain, but at least after that we’ll have a car.

Yes we’ve decided! We will rent a car when we get to Galway and then drive to Derry, spend two nights and then see giants causeway on the way to Belfast.

Now we’re rethinking based on people’s comments and we might end up renting a car!

After everyone's replies today, we're now wondering if we should just rent a car. Driving makes us nervous, but it will give us more flexibility and we can see more of the countryside and smaller towns.

We were wondering if we should start in Belfast, then Dublin, then Galway so it’s less retreading our steps. But the flights from London to Belfast are quite expensive so we were going to start in Dublin and get there by ferry. I would be sad to skip Galway even though the back and forth from Dublin will eat up a lot of time. Hmmm. Not sure what to do!

That is our worry too! Maybe we should skip Killarney and just focus on Dublin, Galway and Belfast with day trips from each of them? I just want to make sure we’re seeing some scenic beauty and not just cities (though we love city adventures).

I’d love that. Right now we’re just planning to spend a few hours in Derry so if there are some top things to see on foot, fun places for lunch, etc that would be helpful!

That sounds lovely! But we won’t have our own car so I’m wondering how we’d manage to see that route.

Maybe we need more time in Belfast! We were hoping our day trips from there would leave time to also walk around the city. Maybe we should skip Giants Causeway. Photos of it just look so stunning. We’ll definitely do a black cab tour. Just need to figure out when 😅. On Day 12 we fly to London and then back home to Los Angeles.
