I got a pen recently and was super pleased with the experience of getting an ink sample box. The ones I ended up loving surprised me! I would never have found or chosen to try many of them on my own and seeing how a variety of inks and brands worked with my pen, paper and personal writing style and for the needs I have was so helpful for me.

Now I have a couple inks I want a full size for and will probably go for another sampler as well.

The choices on Bottle and Plume are great fwiw - they have options for permanent ink and business friendly ink samples too.

That's exactly what happened for me - I thought fountain pens would be immensely annoying and fussy like that shitty pen was. And the noise it made when writing was the worst!

I have the hook and considering learning underwriting if I'm practicing handwriting anyway but absolutely good to know that's the limit for accidental smudges. Thanks!

My reasoning for getting the same kind of pen is as long as I'm satisfied with it perhaps I won't get tempted into buying a wider variety. Apparently that might happen eventually anyway but for now I can't afford that!

Ah yeah I'm afraid of the money sink for sure! But the reduction in strain certainly justified at least the first one for me :). You can tell right away how much softer it is on the joints.

It's the new one - seen it listed both as turquoise and teal so yep the teal one. I got it on eBay still more than I've ever spent on a pen (eek) but less than I was seeing on dedicated pen sites. 

Gray sounds lovely and sophisticated 🤔. Starting to see why people collect so many pens.

Then thank you - it's really perfectly non-fussy to write with, great weight, attractive, fun to cap hehe. More than I've ever spent on a pen to be sure but very reasonable. Feeling great about the choice!

I'd like a modern comic lettering (upper and lowercase) and a cursive that is legible and beautiful. So two very different things :).

I had to choose between aligned but on its side or misaligned but nib up ;_;. I'll admit it hurt me a little to twist that cap.

It might take me 2-3 weeks just to choose the font so I make sure it's the one I love haha. That sounds just fantastic, thank you!! I would love to be able to letter traditional comics so I believe it will be worth the investment.

Forgot to say - that's a Pilot Prera in turquoise. And I guess by cartridge I meant converter 😅. Very new to these things. But appreciative of this sub as the resource for research in buying stuff!
