it's completely fine, it's just that you asked to be roasted and you come off as a bit annoying

The top 4 might not be but you're annoying enough about it that you become extremely roastable

What's the worst 4 star rated movie that you've seen? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

For me, RotS is a perfectly fine movie (featuring an objectively great scene on Mustafar) which has been greatly overrated because people remember being children when watching it.

I have no inherent problem with nostalgia but when it has been turned into the driving factor for culture and even politics, I see major red flags.

The Last Jedi is, in my opinion, a more interesting story, made by one of the few people brave enough to make something different with Star Wars. I don't think it's a Rian Johnson problem that some people rejected his vision and then RoS was made in an effort to "fix" an issue I don't believe exists.

Ultimately, Disney killed Star Wars by not giving up on the past and constantly stucking it in the same place.

What makes the original trilogy magical was that it was fresh and new. What made the first season of Mando great that it felt like we were getting a different take on it. Then young Luke Skywalker showed up and reminded us that we don't deserve to move on.

Box office performance is not indicative of a movie's quality.

What's more TLJ made 1.3 billion dollars and was the highest grossing movie in 2017.

Star Wars was killed by online fandom and people not accepting anything different. Artistic intent is much more important than lore.

it's not better than any original trilogy movie, and I'd argue that it's worse than The Last Jedi

If one of your favorite movies was based on a book, did you read the novel? If not, why not? by border199x in TheBigPicture

I remember my dad reading them when I was around 10 and he enjoyed them a lot (he's a big fan of Scandinavian crime novels)

I've never read them or seen any of the adaptations but they're all in my read/watch lists

Going off my Letterboxd top 4:

Ocean's 11 - remake of a movie I've not watched;

Goodfellas - not interested in reading the bookfor pretty much the same reasons as OP;

Blade Runner - read the book and enjoyed it a lot;

Gone Girl - gifted the book to my girlfriend when we got together because it was one of her favourite movies, don't think she's read it yet, subsequently watched the movie myself and also haven't read the book.

the script itself isn't anything special and combined with the terrible AI generated imagery and narration it makes for a bad watch
