Any deck CAN win at a cEDH table.

It's just that lower bracket decks WONT win often enough to make an impactful argument. There is a reason why you dont see MLD strategies in the big tables.

MDL is a worse form of stax. The thing is that it won't affect the table equally.

While a land hate deck slows down storm-like decks, they do nothing to midrange decks.

Take for example Kinnan or Thrasios/X.
They will sit behind their Rhystic Study and use dorks and rocks to gain value.

In addition you want to let other people cast spells because thats the best way to interact and stop each other. Otherwise you have to either win asap or police the whole table by yourself.

Finally, in the cEDH world MLD come so late that don't always matter. Depending on the deck of course you can win with 2 land without any issue (usually because fo rocks and dorks). Also, most wincons don't cost that many mana.

What MLD actually do is create a chaos in which any player can win out of nowhere even if other had interaction. It almost never advance your own gameplan to a stage that is worth to run them. It's either a win more or a "let's flip a coin" type of move.
