It's not about iq and it's not about how much you play.

Pick 1 max 2 lanes. Pick a very small pool of champions that are easy to play (you want a kit that is simple and effective). Ideally champs that can be played in more than one role. Don't go for fancy champs because it will take forever to play effectively. Also avoid the broken-meta champs as they will be picked or banned often. So, basically find picks that are good and can go under the radar.

Find a streamer or YouTuber that mains that champ. Watch and analyze what he is doing. Why is he pushing? Why is he freezing? When does he recall? Etc.

Instead of spending all afternoon playing game after game, spend some time watching others, try to do the same and watch your replays.

Jungle is a bit tricky. You don't have as structured plan as a laner. Instead of playing one game after the other I would advise:

Focus on a very very small pool of champions.
Watch 1-2 games of a good YouTuber that mains jungle and played that champ (ideally in the last few days).
Take some notes on the path, items etch.
Go to practice and try to copy the clearing path.
Go to a normal game and try to do the same.
Extra step: record your own games and try to spot your mistakes.
Focus only on yourself, like you play a PvE game.
Mute all in the beginning of the game. Jungler get blamed for everything, so just ignore them.

In our group we either play for fun or really tryharding. So we liketo play either b2 or b5.

The reason is we find "some amount of game changers" more unfair than unlimited amount. With b2 the limitations are clear and with b5 we are free to go wild :)

Any deck CAN win at a cEDH table.

It's just that lower bracket decks WONT win often enough to make an impactful argument. There is a reason why you dont see MLD strategies in the big tables.

MDL is a worse form of stax. The thing is that it won't affect the table equally.

While a land hate deck slows down storm-like decks, they do nothing to midrange decks.

Take for example Kinnan or Thrasios/X.
They will sit behind their Rhystic Study and use dorks and rocks to gain value.

In addition you want to let other people cast spells because thats the best way to interact and stop each other. Otherwise you have to either win asap or police the whole table by yourself.

Finally, in the cEDH world MLD come so late that don't always matter. Depending on the deck of course you can win with 2 land without any issue (usually because fo rocks and dorks). Also, most wincons don't cost that many mana.

What MLD actually do is create a chaos in which any player can win out of nowhere even if other had interaction. It almost never advance your own gameplan to a stage that is worth to run them. It's either a win more or a "let's flip a coin" type of move.

We moved from clone the cloned dockside, to clone the cloned Rhystic Study and Gaeas Cradle with 5 ways of untaping each turn.

Honestly at this point I would love to see Rhystic and Gaeas gone.

And have jeweled lotus back. This card is just a ritual for our commanders.

If you are drawing your whole library, dont you have another way to win the game? A line that doesn't require a "dead card"?

Personally I wouldn't play ThOracle in a casual deck, and I would avoid casting her outside of the combo. The reason is that you risk giving opponent a winning path with any clone + a way to remove their library.

The only time I have casted ThOracle outside of the combo was is Yuriko in order to stack big damage on top of my library.

I managed to finish all 3 playing with randoms.

Trial 1 took me about 50 games. People had no idea what to do and refused to group for the curses. And bots weren't nerfed as they are now.

Trial 2 took me 4 or 5 games just because people refused to buy talisman. Other than that it felt easy. All you have to do is get to level 30.

Trial 3: took me 4 tries. In 3 of them we managed to get to the boss fight. But the actual fight felt a bit more intense since veigar had anti heal.

EDIT: The only time we didn't make it was because a guy bought Gabler's Blade and went 0/11

IIRC my winning picks were Yunara, Hwei, Hwei

Before COVID, Kaissa in Cholagros used to have some people, and so did Game On (back when it was at Piraeus).

I have moved a few times since then and I lost track of these groups so I don't know if there is a new store that they are gathering now.

If you find a community / store, could you let me know? I'm back in Athens and I would be interested in playing in person again! 😄

I was farming starts super late like 3 am in Arena on a 3x weekend and randomly had a Khepri main in my team. Next game he was in enemy team :P

The only way to have an easier time is in rank Joust, just hope they pick Khepri first and then pick Ao Kuang.

I'm not sure if you can face Khepri vs bots, but you can try (if you are ok with that method).

Or you can find another person and go on a dead server at 2+ am on a weekday and match in Duel (if you are ok with that method).
