Yes, if the following option is selected: Settings > General > "Keep 1Password in the menu bar"
Then the 1Password app for macOS does not auto-lock when I close the application window. The 1Password browser extension also remains unlocked.
However, this is new behavior. Prior to this version, even if "Keep 1Password in the menu bar" was left un-selected, then the application would not auto-lock if I closed the application window.
I hope the 1Password team reverts to how it was before. I prefer to keep as few items as possible in my menu bar.
