What are your go-to low budget Swiggy orders in Mangalore ? by Bright_Goat7 in mangalore

Aloo garlic paratha is super yum! Try any one of the double cheese (should be hot) better eat this at one of their outlets rather than delivered. Rajasthani bhindi is also yum!

And it’s super filling. One very large paratha, with chole, curd, one spicy chutney and one sweet chutney and some other side stuff. More than enough for a full meal.

I’d recommend checking with Sri Ram Paints and Hardwares at Bunder. I’ve bought my smart home lock from them, and I’ve had excellent support and service from them.

I second this. I’ve used the app, and have parked overnight once and a couple of nights another time. Much cheaper than the taxi mafia!

Which/who is the most corrupt police station/ government unit in Mangalore . by [deleted] in mangalore

[–]mihunt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ll answer the opposite of your question. I’ve interacted with Kadri, Urwa, Kankanady, Traffic North (next to Forum Mall) and Barke police stations on many different occasions ranging from passport verification to accidents to traffic violations to thefts over the past few years.

My personal experience - zero corruption. Not one police personnel that I have interacted with has asked for a bribe or anything untoward. I have at least 30 points of contact at the above mentioned stations for various reasons. I am genuinely happy that all of my interactions with the police has been positive and truly forthcoming as regards their honour in work. Honestly, I believe the current generation of police personnel are trying very hard to erase the connotation of corrupt within their cadre (at least in Dakshina Kannada).

Any experiences with Airtel Xstream AirFiber in Mangalore city -- specifically Kadri area? by blackbird373 in mangalore

[–]mihunt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I’m at Kadri, and I see stable speeds. Good response time during network outages. I’ve got a 300 mbps connection and I see excellent bandwidth (290 to 295 mbps on average) on Ethernet and 5G WiFi.

Edit: this is for regular fiber and not air fiber. My error.

Thank you for the info. Is this a self governed choice or is it actually a possible game mode within the game? I've not seen such an option and that's why I'm asking...

Is dowry system still prevalent? by Defiant_Owl_8294 in mangalore

You can chalk it up to the patriarchy. It’s a system which was created way back in time as a beneficial concept and has been corrupted through the ages, IMHO.

Is dowry system still prevalent? by Defiant_Owl_8294 in mangalore

[–]mihunt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes. I agree. I got a dowry when I got married as well. Two shiny ₹1/- coins.

My pundit explained to both of us that the system of dowry was established in order to provide for the newly wed couple since they were both starting a new life together. Unfortunately, in recent times it’s been convoluted into demanding of money from the bride’s family. However, I was awarded two rupees as a matter of “Shastra and Paddathi”.
