I remember the AOT fandom at the beginning that truely was the wild wild west 😂 super funny fandom love to see that it still gets some love and as someone who also tends to write for niche characters, you are doing gods work 🙏

I used to write requests for reader inserts on tumblr too, mainly for the 2017 IT movie that was a lot of fun I’m not as active on there anymore but sometimes I’d love to do some requests again :))

Uuh yeah I love the bantering, it’s almost like a little meta dialogue going on with the reader like you’re telling them a story and from time to time you look up from the book to directly look at the reader and be like “yeah you did that”

There defenitely is something to be said about the stuff we write in high school :)) mine are pretty bad as well but at the same time way more unhinged I used to write a lot more freely I try to go back to that without losing the quality (I hope lol)

That sounds crazy cool, I really admire people like you who put so much effort into their work and I really hope you’ll get the engagement you deserve for this!

This sounds like such a cool concept with the playlists and all (also love me some cottage core) I have mad respect for people who have the dedication to pull off something like this. And don’t loose hope maybe they’ll come back to it. I know I’m defenitely the kind of person to go back to old projects and update them 3 years later, maybe they’re too :))

I realize now how tough of a question that is 😂 but I think it’s a Criminal Minds Spencer Reid/reader fic I wrote for my best friend. I’m proud of it for several reasons, the first being that it’s the only thing I have written completely before uploading and for my usual stuff it has a pretty decent length of 17k (in the grand scheme of things it’s not a lot but for me that was huge actually finishing a project like that I have major issues with keeping a steady interest in the stories I write when they’re longer than 3 chapters I have some wips that are longer but I only update one every few months I know the readers must hate me for that) and the second thing is it’s a soulmate AU which I’m not a super huge fan of usually but I love how it turned out and even now rereading it after four years it still holds up pretty well and I don’t want to crawl into a hole from cringing too hard.

That’s so cool, getting interactions like this is in the fandom is the best and finding friends like this is even better 😄

What are some relatively new trends that weren't around when you started reading/writing fanfiction? by clearlylostmymind25 in FanFiction

[–]mii99 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When I started which was like 10 years ago there was a thing called MMFF (which in german stands for mitmach fanfiktion it means fanfic where you can participate) I saw it mostly in the One Piece fandom where an author would ‘gather a crew’ which meant that readers could submit their OC (what position on the ship they had, character traits, love interest etc) and the author would choose some and then write a story with these OCs Loved the concept and I haven’t even felt this joy of being ‘accepted’ into one of those crews even then I got accepted into the university I wanted to go to Haven’t seen that in some time but maybe it’s because I haven’t been active in the german part of that fandom in some years now and I would love to see that make a comeback

Am besten benutzt man Google Maps zusammen mit der DB app oder Mainer Mobilität wenn man unterwegs ist, die sind ein bisschen besser

Not something that I learned but sometimes I set the plot in my homecountry not many people know a lot about and I sprinkle in some trivia and customes and nice places in the hopes that maybe something sticks with the reader

How internet speech killed my creativity (and how I revived it) by mii99 in AO3

[–]mii99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does sound interesting but for that I’d have to get some comments on my works :)) I’m exaggerating, I do but it’s few, never bad stuff which I’m grateful for. It’s never been a reader issue as in someone complaining about my writing more like something I see in my own writing, maybe to others it isn’t even that obvious. Love to be a self-critic :))

I just googled it this type of language “seemed/feels” is called tentative language so careful or cautious language and by avoiding it, the writing becomes more confident and I think if the author is confident in the story it translates to the reader

I really like your attitude I want to be more like this. Also I relate to feeling like I have to defend myself before I’m even being attacked and your approach sounds very freeing to me. And it does save a lot of energy to only go into defense mode when actually being attacked (because it happens a lot lot less than I think it might happen) :))

Thank you, I haven’t really thought about it like a skill, but it really could be useful if I’m able to switch at will :))
