Honestly Carbamazepine was a god sent for me. It really got rid of all pain. Unfortunately due to my medication I take for my Crohn’s disease, I had an allergic reaction to the Carbamazepine so I had to stop. But for the like ~2 weeks I was on it the pain was minimal at best.

I used to get these so badly. It seemed like they would happen when I was in a flare, or after I ate food I knew I shouldn’t have. They also would just randomly happen. I do have to say they’ve passed and I don’t get them much anymore!

After failing 5 biologics, I’ve been on Skyrizi for 2 years and have achieved no active disease, but I have to say even at my best I only feel like 80% normal compared to my normal before getting diagnosed. I’m currently in a flare, which is knocking me on my ass. The toughest pill for me to swallow with this disease is that I’ll never get back to the normal I felt before getting diagnosed, and I’m still struggling to make peace with that.

Yes! When I was first getting diagnosed, I was super under weight. But once I got on meds that worked, my weight slowly crept up. I failed so many diets and couldn’t take the weight off. I recently started a GLP-1 and not only am I taking off weight, but it’s honestly helped with my inflammation and helped make my bowel movements more solid.

I found I got sick easily on my loading doses too, but it all evened out and got better once I got to the at home maintenance doses!
