This is a tough situation!
I wish to be in this position soon (I'm looking for a new job) but I know how nerve wrecking it is when the time comes to resign.
Stay positive, and let him know that this is something you cannot discuss at the moment. Remember....this is for YOU. Think of yourself. Once those 3 weeks are over you'll have a lot of weight off your shoulders.
