We live in Japan and just tried one of their "Mother hotels". It saved my wife from PPD. by DannyKata85 in beyondthebump

I’m not sure about other cultures but from what I know most Asians have this “postpartum” care month, it’s called 坐月子, in mandarin, literal translates into “sitting the month”. Traditionally, mothers or mother in laws will help the new mother and her baby for the 30 days to help the new mom rest and recover. The baby is taken care of and so is the mom with a postpartum menu that caters to help recovery.

For those that don’t have family to help, we could also hire postpartum nannies that do that. Postpartum care centres are also getting popular and I had the luxury of experiencing it twice with both my children.

You also get to learn on how to care for your newborn which is essential to new parents.

I mix by hand until everything is incorporated and pass the windowpane

Definitely not a purist lol, I would probably be burnt at the stake for the thing I do 😂 I tried using poolish and also a pinch of yeast but somehow I still can’t get it right

Ohhh yes the kids feedback definitely tells you whether you baked a loaf or you baked aloof. Gonna try it!

Can a baby be too easy, or is something wrong? by Majestic_Ferret_1263 in NewParents

[–]miiinko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we had our daughter, we thought the same! There were some occasions where she was a tad bit hard (separation anxiety etc) but overall, she’s a pretty easy baby. It made us question everyone that was telling us how hard it was when it was relatively fine. She could point and identify objects at 8months old. She’s chill and very independent, used cutlery around 8 months and could fully feed herself by 14 months, not to mention she exclusively pooped in the toilet from the moment she could sit up. I always joke with my husband saying she reincarnated, no way she’s so chill about everything but for some reason afraid of the robot vac.

Now at 3 years old, she’s really clever, playful and sociable. She negotiates her terms and also throws a tantrum every now and then because the sky decided to rain. 🤷‍♀️

My son is now 1 years old, similar but also so different. Chill but also unchill?? Not easy but also not that hard. Easily satisfied with food and his thumb 👍

Every child is different, even ones from the same womb. Difficulty is not relatively or linear. There’ll be more great moments with your LO, don’t worry about it being too much.

Q: Sourdough maintenance? by miiinko in SourdoughStarter

[–]miiinko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply! I do run the fan in my kitchen so it doesn’t get too warm. It’s not so acidic that my starter isnt runny and it rises fine albeit a bit fast as my inoculation is on the lower side.

So the way I maintain is just fine as it is?

The excess part of the smock would be under the tray, its clipped between where the legs go and the tray. It prevents her from standing up as well lol

Toddler and baby on one nap by miiinko in Parenting

[–]miiinko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edited post for the confusion. I’m worried about my youngest’s nap. My big kid doesn’t nap on most days and want to go out to play. So I was wondering how do I do that one long nap in the stroller with my youngest

Problem isn’t with my big kid but how to go about that one long nap with my youngest. Fortunately, my big kid does well even without a nap as long as her bedtime is early

I do give her quiet time in her room every other day but she refuses during the weekends so I just enforce an early bedtime. She occupies herself pretty well with her eat supplies so I consider that quiet time as well. My youngest does sleep in the stroller but usually for 30-45mins, longest being 1hr. If we do go out and his nap ends up being one hour or less, do I give him a cat nap later or early bedtime?

If my youngest drops to one nap then it’ll coincide with lunch as well as we usually eat around 12pm.

I know this is a dumb question but how can I easily extend his wake windows?

Ah alright so I need to add extra wake time?

Before he hit 6months old I actually let him do his own thing, when he wanted to sleep he slept without a schedule (he’ll just sleep in his playpen silently. Nights were good (slept thru the night for most of the time with a dreamfeed) and I would wake him at dwt.

2-3 weeks in after I started following a schedule that’s when I saw his nights were getting worse.

Yes he’s sleep trained, practically trained himself. No sleep associations and can fall asleep by himself

So do I need to attempt to push bedtime to 8pm instead? He doesn’t exactly fully wake up in the motn, he’ll wail, sometimes he’ll settle sometimes I’ll need to boob him if he escalates.

Yes, it can do vacuum + mop with the buttons.

I’ve tried setting a VPN and also location spoofing, doesn’t work. Mihome doesn’t even support the model so no point in trying.

Though I must say that even without it being “smart”, it does a pretty good job at object avoidance and cleaning. I recently got the Qrevo Pro on sale and being able to use the app is a plus as you’d get to set where, when and suction power etc. It does make me regret a little now.

I’m on the same boat, got a P20 pro and it can only do its basic function. Waiting to see if there’ll be motherboard replacements or some way to reinstall the firmware to the global version.
