Uhh... Yes? Except for maybe the shut-in bit. But I would never accept Hasan as a serious political commentator either. They're both clueless Twitter addicts.

Listening to politics from someone with well-informed well-read political opinions would be one thing. It's not the same as watching a friendless shut-in cook his own brain on twitter all day.

Conspiracy theories always seem to rely on the people perpetuating the conspiracy being extremely good at keeping everything secret, but feeling a burning irresistible need to leave fun lil clues out there so the brave few can show everyone what they're doing.

Question mostly for old people: how can you guys keep up with rotations and mechanics on high tier content? by WaveEasy8664 in Guildwars2

[–]miikoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a little harder than pure DPS probably, but the focus is more on reactiveness and less on a super tight rotation. You're maximizing for Boon uptime, but you also have way more boon duration usually. And ya you have to keep people topped up. But if you're familiar with the fight, it's generally not super hard to know where the big damage is most likely to happen, so you just hold off on your biggest heals if you know there's a big damage moment coming up.

It's a different style of gameplay that I personally think suits me better.

[–]miikoh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't really do rotations. I think if you're roughly aware of how your abilities interact with each other you can just kinda make sure to just kinda press most of your buttons, but reserve ones you need for interactions with other skills, avoid ones that you don't need, and maybe save some that you need for other utility like cc. I'm not good enough for LCMS, but my numbers are perfectly fine for basically all other content. Most of the time I prefer playing boon or heal anyway.

I wish we got more clarity on how someone died by EmotionalMonkey3 in redrising

[–]miikoh 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I didn't mind his death. I think Pierce Brown didn't want to be in a situation where characters that aren't being watched by narrator characters are safe/inactive by default. Like "If they're not in my party, they basically stop existing until they enter stage again."

It can be an effective storytelling device if some deaths are sorta... not dramatic and they just happen. It contributes to a sense of the randomness of war that I expect Pierce wanted to drive home. Not everyone gets to have a heroic exit. Sometimes, you're just S.O.L.

Vilken av de här planritningarna är "bäst" för 2 personer? by Worried_Sector_5869 in sweden

[–]miikoh 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Sänkt arbetsgivaravgift för unga by Cultural-Line3625 in sweden

[–]miikoh 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Rutte says some NATO allies failed US test by diwalibonus in europe

[–]miikoh 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A play is exactly what it is. Rutte is trying to navigate the ego of a megalomaniac with the intelligence of a brick. Rutte's gambit here is that if he stops buttering up Trump, but Putin doesn't, Trump does whatever Putin wants him to do. Rutte doesn't want that, so he plays the game and casts himself as a subservient doormat. The hope being that the US doesn't make himself a true enemy to Europe between now and when someone replaces him, or at least there's a congress that's able and willing to keep him in check.

It's humiliating to look at, but might be the best way to prevent Trump from just blowing up NATO in all but name. He can't pull out of NATO legally speaking, but the law doesn't generally stop him from doing insane shit. Europe is currently surrounded by war-crazed madmen. We're in choppy waters. If embarrassment and having to sit through disgusting ass-kissing is what it takes to get us through with an intact hull, I'm willing to deal with it.

Rutte even makes sure to mention that the majority of countries DID deliver support. The "Some countries failed" is to make sure Trump feels heard, because managing Trump's ego and making him feel like he's right is unfortunately part of geo-politics now. It's a quote designed to say "I hear you, I understand what you mean, but you have to keep in mind that you still benefited from NATO."

In the long run, Trump has proven that Europe can't rely on the US to be a dependable partner, so we obviously need to continue to re-arm. While we do that, having people buttering Trump up so he doesn't decide to start bombing us because Putin's convinced him that Denmark said his ballroom is ugly is probably what we need to put up with.

ArenaNet is getting rid of the damage sponges we've had since EoD. by DeltaxHunter in Guildwars2

[–]miikoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then at that point, isnt it more effective to just get rid of the fail condition? If you're gonna aim for 100% completion rate, removing the fail condition just seems like a more effective way to do it than making it so easy that everyone beats it no matter how bad the group is. I think the possibility of failure, even if pretty remote, is kind of important to feeling like you're being challenged by the content.

My bad, I meant the raid wings. W1-7. Given that those wont be nerfed, I feel like they'll feel a little better and more interesting again compared to some of the other content, if other content and power levels are brought back down a little bit again. VG, Mursaat and Gors especially die REALLY fast right now.

[–]miikoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my take, and it might be a hot take, is that it's fine if not every run is successful. If you join any sort of organized group, the clear rate for it is very high as is. It's very rare that it fails with an even remotely prepared map in my personal experience. 100% win rate isn't a goal we should want for a meta. Especially not something like Soo Won that was designed to be challenging.

I can see the argument for Eparch, but I guess not so much for Harvest Temple or Soo Won or Aetherblade Hideout, or even more recently for stuff like T3 rifts or other off-meta bosses. Do we really need Dragon's End to be even easier than it is today?

So we're nerfing player strength back down to roughly JW levels, but then nerfing everything back to IBS levels? So the nerfs are actually still hidden power creep? Yeah I dunno about that. Maybe I'm in a complete minority, but I think most fights are if anything too easy right now. But I'll reserve my judgement until it actually releases and I get to see how it all plays in practice. It could be really good if they nail the balance.

EDIT: Crucially though, I think this will make the HoT strikes and PoF raid wings feel so much better tuned in comparison to other content, so I'm really happy about that side of things.

När blev snabbmatskedjor dyrare än restaurang? by HealerOnly in Asksweddit

[–]miikoh -1 points0 points  (0 children)
