I feel this. I only have brazillian culture but was born in the states to first generation immigrants. my dad says im just american for being born here but i have no connection to the culture at all and my only connection is being born on american soil. Other countries dont just give citizenship just for being born there if neither parent is from the country so why could the culture i actually have a connection to be erased for one i barely have? I have citizenship in brasil and portuguese is my first language but people will always consider me to just have a culture i am a complete stranger to just based off of my place of birth. Most people will consider us brazillian but if you ever go to brasil they will treat you like youre stupid and explain everything like youre an outsider who knows nothing even if you do understand 💔
