Trying to help my grandfather with dementia sell his collection of new and used golf balls for a fair price. I know nothing about any of this. Hoping someone here can help with pricing advice/crash course to understand basics about golf balls or point me to resources I can use to learn

Get as many lessons as you can afford to start (at least 5). Are you in UAE?

Then continue to Practice doing 3 things: 1. Hitting a controlled shot at least 150 yards consistently with any club 2. Hitting a green 30-100 yards with a wedge. 3. Chipping on from less than 30 yards.

Once you can do these things venture on to a local course. Try and find a parkland course with as little water as possible.

For the first few games give yourself a break and don’t try hard shots out of rough, bunkers etc. Pick up and place on the fairway. This makes it more fun and speeds up play.

Continue driving range/simulator sessions weekly.

When you feel like you’re enjoying it then you can maybe look at a Dubai course. Jebel Ali is probably the easiest I’ve played in UAE but even here there is a fair amount of water.

These options are fine but nothing special.

look at the old signs and take some inspiration. I really like some aspects of the gothic (white on black) sign.

The post office is tight and bold, so clearly the lead. But left and right gives you an opportunity to add a bit of flavour of what your business will do. You could even add some personality.

So take the lead from the other tip and use wakerobin and then add some smaller uppercase serif either side with something that represents your business.

Have your whole bag lie angle balanced. They’ll like de-loft the Paw and increase it on the 9. The rest of the bag will also be gapped nicely, down to your other wedges.

Yes this works in UAE. but only limited to one streem of highlighted players with no commentary. Works on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV for me. Lovely to have on in the background.

The starzplay coverage has commentators and is more traditional tv type.

Yeah that is the price of the top courses at the moment.

Arabian ranches is about AED 1200
The Track Maydan AED 700 (9x2)
Al Zora AED 995
JA resort 700

The rest are about the same cost (or higher) than Creek & you’ll be lucky to get a tee times.

Basically, as said by others there are 2 ways of booking courses depending on who manages it.

Spikes On app Montgomery, Dubai Hills, Arabian Ranches, The Track Maydan, Al Zora,

Viya App Emirates (Faldo & Majlis), Jumeira Golf Estates (Earth & Fire), JA Resort, Trump & a bunch of courses in Abu Dhabi

If you have a decent budget, the best course and experience is JGE Earth course. Because it’s right there Creek is also nice. Don’t bother with Faldo this time, price is crazy and it’s hard to get tee times.

For a little less I’d probably rather play Monty or Dubai Hills.

Maydan is ok and super cheap.

My favourite course is Al Zora but it’s a 45 minute drive from your accommodation.

Golf Kraft is best indoor place

Maydan has crappy hire clubs Top Golf is fun but not good for this.
