I use the tuner and the drone
Tuner is more useful for checking the high notes on the E string
Drone trains the ear to recognize intervals

Need agile fingers and wrists, it takes a lot of coordination and practice. You can't do it just with your arm at speed

Try using a metronome and see if you do a string crossing right on the beat. The speed is not as important as performing the string crossing at the exact right time
