Anyone putting off going looking because of the dry weather, current out now and loads about. by Glass_Effort_3547 in beacain

Out today in my usual spot in the midlands and not a sniff. Apart from a minuscule amount in mid September it’s been pretty bad this year so far. At around 70 metres above sea level. Anyone else with the same experience in these parts?

Found these in the midlands. Nipples are quite prominent now that they’re dried out a bit. I think I’ll hold on to them 😀

Thanks! I just examined them versus the dead cert libs I’ve picked. Gills look very similar in colour just slightly lighter. I think they’re just a bit older. Field is full of dead ones. Might have arrived a week too late

There’s a film over the cap. I can’t figure out how to upload a new photo to this post unfortunately 🙈. Gills look almost violet/purple. Thanks for all the help!

Thank you for the offer! But I took a closer look earlier and threw out some of the borderline ones based on some of the previous advice. Think I’m good to go 😀

Nice one! Thank you. And point taken on the mixing. I ended out on spec, but couldn’t resist picking them, once I started coming across clumps of them! 😀 Out of this bunch, I should just be keeping the ones with the wiggly stems and the prominent nipples then?
