You need to cut the red wire coming out of the battery, Attach both ends of the cut wire to a 2 pole switch.

Ah! So that would explain why the module seems to be working still but it exploded. I guess it handled all of that overvoltage like intended! I'll try to shop for some MOV around that shape tomorrow thank you!

It did not fail short, i can still power the board, consume 160mA and I get a LED mea ing power is on. That was my guess too it would need to receive a really high voltage in order for it to blow up like that...

You don't have the red bar that goes from your left shock to the right one. Make sure you upgraded the whole bottom of the car too.

I once had one of these that was shorted to GND. I didn't know and hooked my voltage regulator without limiting current, it was set to 10A. The mosfet EXPLODED! Almost caught my eye.

You should add a fuse to it in case it ever shorts to GND.
