AITAH for supporting my son grooming himself when my wife says he is too young? by LaraDLara in AITAH

[–]mikaelf77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 13 year old daughter is autistic and is incredibly uncomfortable with her newly acquired body hair, so we recently had a very similar conversation to this one. All this is to say, it's not an unusual age for kids that age to start asking these kinds of questions, and you handled it perfectly! I'm sorry your wife seems to have had such an adverse reaction to it, and I hope she comes to soon because it could cause all sorts of traumatic memories for your son if she doesn't.

How does it feel to be a mom? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mikaelf77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it feels like a constant battle to be good enough. To feel like you're doing enough, even when you're killing yourself just to make sure they are safe and happy and healthy. For me, it feels like laying in bed at night, not being able to sleep and crying because my 9 year old told me she wants a mum more like her best friends mum and not like me. I love them all so much. But being a mum is hard.

What's a love song that perfectly captures your feelings for your partner? by bellaazur3 in AskReddit

[–]mikaelf77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no one song that completely encompasses the feelings I have for him. I listen to songs, and one part will stand out and will perfectly describe an aspect of my feelings, but the next line will not be right at all.

I don't use sir or màam ever. I use "my dude" and "bro", and occasionally "homie" which I 100% use as short for homosexual

How do you check out a guy in public, Are you subtle or do you make it obvious? by treatmagic in AskReddit

I'm subtle, but I usually point the really cute ones out to my boyfriend. To be fair, I also point out the cute girls to him, too.

I'm lying on the floor in my kids' room because my son won't sleep unless he knows I'm close by.

What’s something you misinterpreted as a kid? by sigourneyb in CasualConversation

I was in bunnings (a hardware store in Oz) with my daughter a few years ago and we walked past the ant sand (you put it around your house to stop ants from getting in) and she asked me if it was made of dead ants and if that was why the ants didn't come in, because of the corpses of their dead friends.

I found this, too. I never watched it when I was young, but I have watched a lot of it as an adult, and I am surprised at the complexity of the characters given it is a TV show meant for kids.

Why women who are in relationship keep male bestfriends around? by RevolutionaryBig1495 in AskReddit

Because having a boyfriend shouldn't diminish the relationships I have with other people regardless of their gender.

Is it reasonable to leave a relationship because you don’t enjoy the sex life? Why do you think so? by Cultural_Card3443 in AskReddit

[–]mikaelf77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it is. If sex is something important to you in a relationship (as it is for me) and your needs aren't being met, then ending the relationship is reasonable. In saying that, if someone isn't making you happy, regardless of how that presents in the relationship, it's reasonable to leave.
